okay, you say people should keep boycotting bc whether or not valko comes home will be determined by market data. but why aren't you taking into account the fact that the decreasing numbers could bury him and the game? who said that this will work how you want it to? i'm not attacking, i'm genuinely asking. i agree with a no-spending boycott, but not logging in… i don't know. seems like a lose-lose situation to me.

also, i still believe there's a 30-days silence period, which exists in chinese law, that's why we don't get any communication. if i'm wrong in the end, you can come to my dms and say that i'm a big fool right into my face, i'll accept it

I know a lot of people are angry. I know we're all disappointed. But looking at this from a business perspective Infold is actually doing what it can.

They have to appease the government. Even if the Chinese government is just making a fuss so it looks like, to the public, it's doing something and they'll back off when the heat is gone, Infold has to play ball. They want more censorship, Infold has to comply. I said before they kinda pushed the boundaries with Lingering Lust, so much that they had to resort to words and stick figures. They already had eyes on them.

If they decide to leave China, that takes time too. Paperwork, especially legal paperwork, takes time.

The banner rerun isn't what they planned but there's no reason to think they're not doing the spicy banners again ever. Now is just not the time for that.

There are still actual real life threats of violence to their employees. Rocking the boat now is asking for someone to get sent to the hospital or worse.

I'm not sucking their balls, I'm looking at this from a corporate and legal standpoint. Infold needs to make sure it's even still in business before it can start fixing it's fuck ups.

The problems with people not being able to update might just be a bug that got created when they locked down Valko. (My dad's a software dev, moving a comma wrong can break an entire program and they rushed this job so who knows what happened.)

This has become so much bigger then when it started and that's ignoring the potential corporate defamation that's rumored to have happened.

It's so very much a lot. It's been a very long week. Big feelings are valid. But Infold never said they'd address anything by the update. Infold either can't address anything yet for legal reasons or is simply waiting for everything to calm down (see again threats of violence).

Step away if you need to. Stay away if it's better for you. There is no judgement no matter what you decide. You've been brave. You've been strong. You've done amazing things. If you still have fight left in you, we haven't necessarily lost yet. If you're tired, lay down your arms, rest, then see where you want to go next.

I find looking at things from another perspective can sometimes help. So from a soulless corporate perspective Infold is actually doing something kinda right for once as far as we know.

i'm saying this only on behalf of myself, but considering all the shit (quite literal, too) going on around infold, i understand their silence. yes, they could've at least said something about dealing with the issues atm and, as the result, not being able to hold onto the earlier schedule, but if they're silent, then there MUST be a reason. you CANNOT ignore the way they're being treated right now, each word from them can serve them as a sentence.

i don't read their silence as disrespect towards fans, we all see what's happening, and the fact that the most we know are rumors and speculations tells me that things are REALLY serious and can't get over the walls of the buiding. especially if the government is involved. and please don't forget that their government isn't like yours. what may work in your country can be completely doomed there.

and that is part of the reason i still don't believe the boycott is working the way we'd wanted. the in-game silence from us can be read as disinterest, too. and at this point, we'll only harm ourselves.

i'm also tired of all of this, but like i've said before, this game is too dear for me to lose it. there're real people behind our beloved characters, and we should understand that, too. they could be threatened, from what we see in the latest news. so don't be too selfish on this. and don't go as low as those anti-fans, who added plenty of mud these past few days.

what to do is purely everyone's own choice. it is hard. it hurts. everyone's anxious, me included. but at this time, don't let your mind get blinded by emotions. take care of yourself.

okay now these are my thoughts, but i'm getting more and more anxious with how things are going in the fandom.

do you really think that boycott is working the way you planned? i understand being silent on their social media pages, but not logging in? i can't formulate my thoughts more extensively rn. but i believe that such actions like supportive e-mails, showing love for the character through fanart and fiction, petitions, CHARITY, or even just speaking up, spreading the info - this is what showing our interest and support. not staying out of the game, which can lead to something bad for those who just want to enjoy it.

and yeah, the silence from infold is deafening. but i'm sure there's a good reason for it, considering what we already know.

I've been seeing a lot of people saying they're gonna move to Silent Whispers (that's the name right?) when it's released, and that is absolutely their choice, but it rubs me the wrong way especially with everything that's come out in the last 24ish hours.

When I saw a trailer for SW ages ago I saw it as a LaDS clone cash grab. I whole heartedly agree that LaDS needs competition so it was nice to see a similar game coming to the scene. With their temu Sylus character I was even more against it. I remember when the first few trailers dropped people were comparing Theron to Rafayel's myth, I think it was the chains. The pink haired guy looks like the love child of Xavier and Rafayel with Zayne's evol. There was just something about it all that I didn't trust.

I understand the game is still in the works but the models look hollow and almost ai. I'll admit if it delivers the gameplay promised it does sound like an interesting concept.

Here's where I'm just too tired to deal though. Yes Infold kinda sucks. Yes it needs more competition to force them to improve. Yes people can play whatever the fuck they want. But betting on a game that hasn't been released yet seems silly to me. Yay new and shiny but I don't see the spark. And if the allegations about SW and their parent companies are true do you really think they'll treat you any better then Infold?

I'm not saying don't leave LaDS, do what you want. I'm saying maybe don't jump onto the first thing you see that looks the same. Leaving your shitty boyfriend for another shitty guy you know even less about seems ill advised. I've been a gamer for most of my life (I read PC Gamer back in the day. My first "real" game was StarCraft when I was 7 years old, my dad didn't understand "age appropriate" games and saw the resource management aspect as a good skill for me to learn.) I have a decent intuition on when things feel sketch. SW felt sketch from the start.

This is part overtired stressed out rant and part psa to look a little deeper before you throw yourself at another predatory game company.

And that's the part that's making me lose my fucking mind.

We lost an entire section of the MAIN STORY.

The livestream literally told us Valko's release was going to reveal more about the Aethercore—one of the biggest mysteries in Love and Deepspace and something that's been central to the plot from the very beginning.

So now what?

You think they can just delete him and nothing changes?

Do people genuinely think you can rip out an entire story arc without consequences?

Everything that was supposed to be revealed through Valko now has to be rewritten, redistributed, or outright cut. The main story is going to have to be retconned. Future updates are going to have to be reworked. Characters may have to be rewritten just to fill the gap he leaves.

If you're celebrating this because you "won," I sincerely hope you understand what you've actually cheered for.

I genuinely don't think that negative reaction from the fans will do ANYTHING good both for them and for the game, and it will DEFINITELY affect those, who still want to play, who still want to support their LIs, who still want to get the content.

Please, instead of bombing the developers with hate and curses, consider sending them a decent email (I'll leave the template under the cut) AND/OR signing up the petition:

I want to express how deeply disappointed and honestly heartbroken I am about the cancellation of Valko.

I understand that recent feedback from the community has been overwhelming, and I appreciate that the team is trying to respond to player concerns. However, cancelling Valko completely feels incredibly unfair to the players who were genuinely excited for him and looking forward to experiencing his story.

For many of us, Valko was not just "another love interest". He represented something new, something exciting, and something we were already emotionally invested in. Seeing him announced, only to have him taken away so suddenly, is honestly very painful.

I respect that many players are attached to the existing love interests, but I also believe that the voices of those who welcomed Valko should matter too. It feels like our excitement and support for him were overshadowed by the louder backlash, and that hurts.

Please reconsider this decision, or at least consider bringing Valko back in the future when the team feels more prepared to introduce him properly.

Many players still want him, still support him, and would love to see his story become part of Love and Deepspace.
