i have always found it incredibly annoying that in the sims 4 you can't be a voluntary activist who also has to make ends meet with other things in life. especially a university campus without student activism is insane to me! with this mod,
literally anybody from teen to elder can organize a protest as long as they have a political opinion to protest for.
you can choose a political opinion for your sim by clicking on them. i wanted to keep it maxis, so these are ea's default political causes that come with city living ep, i.e. "no sim left behind", "speak for the trees", "world united", "foundation for less mischief", and "simoleons for everyone". you can change your political opinion anytime from the same pie menu.
then you just go out there and protest in fashion: sims no longer change into those ugly t-shirts! they simply remain in their current outfit. this should be the case even if you are in the politician career.
otherwise it all works exactly as in city living ep, meaning that anybody with or without a political opinion can still join or watch the protest, autonomously or player directed. relevant moodlets, protestor signs etcs are the same as in CL, and a politician can still come and ask protestors to disperse.
requirements: city living ep.
conflicts: none to my knowledge but any mod that alters protest behavior may conflict depending on what changes they implement. shoot me an ask if you have anything specific in mind and i'll look into it!

i really wanted to make child sims able to participate in an already ongoing protest, but i couldn't since that would require new animations. as someone who grew up on various protests my parents took me to, i really want to make this happen one day, when i learn more. my plan would be to:
make it possible for child sims to join an ongoing protest organized by an adult sim. children would shout slogans like the adults and hold small signs. i would make it so that the child sim wouldn't necessarily have a political opinion of their own.
make it possible for child sims to organize two types of protests on their own and without needing any political cause or opinion: protesting their parents and protesting school lol. only child sims could organize these protests and other children or toddlers could join an ongoing one. the toddlers wouldn't understand anything lol they would just bob as they sometimes autonomously do.
if i go even more delulu i would add interactions for parents to make concessions to a child protest or stand their ground (concession example: you are allowed not to brush your teeth just for this night haha). maybe it would affect their parenthood pack related traits etc.

in a damning indictment of turkish educational system, the university entrance exams preparation book is the default highschool book for everyone, whereas government issued subject books on geography and math are treated as optional!
*fiş dosyası front cover utilizes an actual photo of someone else's childhood schoolbook, i found the photo on a random google search and was too charmed by it to resist. the high school geography book has photos that i took in game.

hayat bilgisi: the default override --hayat bilgisi means "knowledge of life", it's a very generic elementary school subject in turkey-- the description for my version goes: "Teaches cursive writing, the importance of a healthy diet, and treating our elders with respect and our youngers with love."
fiş dosyası: i don't know if children still do this at school but in my childhood this was the most basic way to help kids learn to read and write. you buy it as an empty folder with rows of slots on each page, and fill the rows with cut out paper syllables (sold separately) to form simple sentences: "Oya, run to the school / Ali, catch the ball". this worked because our spelling system is very different from that of english.
subjects for highschool:
soru bankası: the default override --literally "question bank"--prepares for the turkish equivalent of SAT exams in the US. includes tons and tons of example questions and some subject explanations. the lives of many a youth has been grinded on these dreary books. these are published by private companies that people believe will prepare them better for successful placement in university exams than the government issued school books would.
geography: in the game this is just an extra option if you want variety in your curriculum! published by the ministry of national education.
math: adds even more in-game variety and presumably prepares you for a future at foxbury! also published by the ministry of national education.

it's a frankenmesh recolor that i painted by hand based on this irl sweater that i realized in the process is a the beatles yellow submarine reference haha
im not gonna share this one because i frankenmeshed two cc items to make it, but more cc incoming!
hande knew she needed to diversify her diet beyond hot dogs and marshmallows, and needed some extra cash too, but it is so difficult to fish as a squeamish person. she vomited a few times when she had to touch living fish.
