The Timurid Quran manuscript, also known as the Aqquyunlu Quran manuscript, is a 15th-century Timurid Quranic manuscript written on paper produced in the Ming dynasty.

all except one featuring actual paintings from historical manuscripts! i thought this would be a wonderful way to celebrate the eid while honoring islamic art.

Cup with calligraphic inscriptions, nephrite (ca. 1447–1449) This white jade cup from Central Asia features calligraphic inscriptions from the Timurid prince 'Ala ud-Daulah (1417–1460) and the Mughal emperor Jahangir (1569–1627), serving as a "portable monument" connecting the two dynasties.

The small vessel highlights the Mughal emperors' practice of reinscribing Timurid artifacts to legitimize their own lineage. While its tiny size and the word durj (jewelry box) in the text suggest it held gems, its bowl-like shape suggests it was a wine vessel, which poets often compared to liquid rubies. Loc.
