Ummmmmmmmmmmm......wow! That thing is autotuned to within an inch of its life and it’s still so so so very average.

If she is having a career change it begs the question what happened to those four lists? You remember the lists, right? A certain segment of the OUAT fandom INSISTED every network president kept a list in their desks of people they dreamed of signing for a show on their networks and Lana was on the top of every one of those lists. There was gonna be a bidding war if OUAT got cancelled. Have the lists gotten lost??? Snort.

Carina is leaving? I’m shocked, she created the show. What do you think will happen?

My first reaction was shock, but about 5 seconds later this news was the least shocking thing in the world.

The number of times I’ve chatted privately with people and talked about how colossally unprofessional she is with fans, with cast, with crew, on social media and especially in relation to her employers is innumerable.

I have constantly been shocked that a major studio like WB and a major network (CBS owns CW) have been okay with her behavior. She talks openly about her emotional fragility on set, numerous times she herself has outed her own unprofessional behavior in dealing with the pressures of her job. She consistently behaves inappropriately with her cast (remember she was the boss, many probably felt like they couldn’t say no) especially Vlamis on social media and she is caustic and routinely bites the hand that feeds her.

You don’t go off half cocked and publicly accuse your brand new distributor (especially one in a coveted territory like the UK) who pays boatloads of money to license your show of being homophobic in a fit of rage on social media. You just don’t. If she had concerns she should have researched it (I think fans quickly proved that it was their blanket policy with regards to sex scenes) and then gone through channels to find out what happened and be somewhat diplomatic about it She was immature, reactionary and unprofessional.

And anyone who paid attention on social media could tell that Jeanine (and Nathan by extension) were sort of done with her after season one. I always applauded them in staying away from her since she was clearly such a mess. Which the fact that it was obvious is part of the problem. Carina was way too close to the cast. She didn’t behave as the boss, as the person responsible for 200 jobs and a multi-million dollar per episode budget for the show. She acted like a teenager on spring break in Santa Fe. Glorying in being besties with which ever cast she could coerce into fluffing her ego that week. I’m going to guess that Vlamis will publicly be sad, but that guy is probably so relieved he doesn't have to revolve his life around entertaining her anymore and being her current social media object of affection.

All the articles talk about how there were complaints that she was on location rather than in LA in the writer’s room, that’s because on almost ever other show the showrunner is not on location. It was one of the oddest things when it came to season 2 and I realized she was going to live there during filming. It was clearly because she wanted to be bestfriends with her actors and hang out with them constantly. Like FOMO kept her in Santa Fe instead of where every other showrunner would have been... in LA, doing their jobs. So for the two writers who had quit after season 2... no wonder, she was clearly a nightmare to work for.

As far as what will happen? I assume Chris Hollier will take over and the cast and crew will be much, much happier. I’m thrilled for all of them. Carina was creative and a good writer, but she was a terrible person to be in charge.

So they decided to show us that cringe, awkward, weird scene between Maria, Michael and Alex but not Liz and Max’s sexy moment? I’m livid

Oh don’t be livid about Max and Liz, we got too much goodness to be mad. Let’s celebrate what we did get, which was A LOT.

However, I will admit that while watching, I had a similar train of thought. @counttotwenty was nice enough to wait for my timezone to watch and we were IMing during the episode. During the scenes that shall not be named we were both screaming about how unfair it was (between all the “NO NO NO NOs” and “WTF WTF WTFs” and the “IS IT FUCKING OVER YETs?”) that Max and Liz were reunited and as far as sexy times all we got was a kiss and quick belt grab and Isobel was getting it on with a hot lady and we got another quick kiss and walk off, but that CLUSTERFUCKERY went on FOREVER.

Seriously, was that the longest sex scene in the history of television or did it just feel like it?

Good grief, talk about the writers not reading a room. I would rather have watched the new boring character, Steph, read the phone book, then one second of that. Why did they think we wanted to see that disturbing, out-of-nowhere, out-of-character embarrassing train wreck, while skipping out on hot lady loving or wholesome, true love sexy times? It was absolutely excruciating to watch.

They’ve lost their damn minds (or Carina was too in love with her shocking twist to let it go.) I’m neither a Miluca, nor Malex shipper, but that twist is what I’m livid about, I can’t imagine what those fans are going through. So, as Echo shippers, lets not be livid that they cut away too soon from our favs, instead let’s just be thankful that our OTP gave us new sweet, sexy, emotional, funny, heartfelt scenes that we’ll treasure forever.

It was absolute insanity. And is still burned into my retinas. No groundwork laid down beforehand, no organic character motivation, no real narrative reason for the scene.

It felt like Carina/the writers decided a threeway would make them look edgy (yawn) and put all the character names in a hat and drew out three and said ok here we go. I’d have rather seen Kyle, Isobel and the sexy blonde bartender than that steaming pile we got.

my patience for RNM is running out. it's hard for me to focus on the other conflicts they keep throwing out there when all i can feel is Max's absence and the obvious lack of Echo content. now i see the promo and something is going to go bad when he comes back? isn't that all a bit too much for only 13 episodes?

Hard to say until we get the whole season, but so far it feels like there are too many storylines. For instance last week Cameron and Jesse Manes felt like an unnecessary time suck, I’m sure those seemingly endless scenes were relevant to future plot, but maybe there should be 25% less plot overall. I’m not really enjoying this season so far, the lack of Max & Liz has sucked the life out of the show, and the addition of lackluster characters (is the doctor sparring with Kyle supposed to be so unlikable?) isn’t helping, but I wouldn’t worry about something going bad with Max. On this show that’s a given, something is always going to go bad.

One step at a time, once Max returns, and lets cross our fingers that is imminent, we’ll take it from there and hopefully the Max/Liz of it all will be enough to sustain us.
