Love for the petals (on Ao3) - rated M, complete, 1011 words

Hanahaki fic in which Mikami alerts Takada about unfortunate his condition, and Kira is willing to pay him a not-so-lovely visit. Bad ending, but it's okay since Mikami didn't expect anything else.

Whispers in the dark (on Ao3) - rated T, complete, 1008 words

Kira won that day in the warehouse, but it left Light injured and Mikami doubtful. They cuddle in this one, and Mikami also wonders about killing his supposed kami.

Mikami is a painter. Light is his muse. Have you read The Picture Of Dorian Gray? I haven't when I wrote these fics, but I have since, and oh, I am so proud of both of these works.

A visit to a gallery leads to a conversation that ends with them separating. Then Light makes up his mind to see Mikami again.

Secrets of the night (on Tumblr) - rated T, very incomplete, 500 words

Though Light is Kira, he and Mikami met under different circumstances, and their relationship quickly escalates into something romantic. But when the game gets too dangerous, Light decides to quit and tell Mikami about his plan - who is not pleased to know the truth. I recommend reading this one as a one-shot, since it's more of a preview/concept than anything!

A crackfic, written exactly a year ago for some laughs and for my own comfort, translated and posted under the ungodly influence of @biggestsimpintheuniverse. Enjoy. :-D

OR the one in which Mikami and Misa attempt to bake a birthday cake for Light.

Mikami Teru, the prosecutor deeply respected by many, the uncrowned king of sharply ironed suits, and (by his own admission) the only man Kira truly enjoyed spending his time with, was now on the edge of a nervous breakdown. His black hair pointed at the sky, and his glasses slipped forward on his nose as he stood in the middle of the kitchen in a purple apron, screaming.

"Amane!" the addressee quickly snatched her high heels from Mikami's desk and shouted back.

"Did it explode?"

"It's...certainly doing something. Take a look at it," there was uncertainty in his voice as he stared at the oven, in which the cake was already four times as big as it should have been according to the recipe.

By the time Misa was willing to look into the kitchen, Mikami was already sitting on the floor, in all the flour that he had not yet had the time or emotional strength to clean up.

"It looks bad," she said. Mikami grabbed his hair with both hands and closed his eyes in an attempt to calm down.

"I've put enough baking powder in it," she muttered, then shuddered as the prosecutor started screaming again. "This is Kami's gift! It must not be this..." and then he suddenly fell silent.

"You also put baking powder in it?"

"You told me to help, and I thought you couldn't read the recipe,"

"What made you think I can't read the recipe?" he asked, but then he bought his hand to his glasses. Amane was right, but it doesn't mean that Mikami didn't take it as an insult. Mikami continued to sob while lying on the floor.

"I'll start it over with you, but now you have to do as I say," Misa declared after scraping the dough out of the mold and throwing it in the trash. The prosecutor muttered something.

"We are now preparing the ingredients..." Misa said slowly, reassuringly.

"And the chocolate," Mikami continued as he finally caved in.

"Yes, and the chocolate."

After six hours and a few more unsuccessful attempts, they made something that looked acceptable enough, even for Light's birthday.

After the decoration, Misa freed Mikami from the apron with scissors, which was tied so tightly around his waist that neither of them could untie the knot, everything was finally ready.

"It's very delicious," Light said with a smile as he struggled heroically with the thick layer of chocolate after the second bite. Mikami's eyes gleamed with love, and he plastered his left hand on the mouth of Amane Misa, to keep her from laughing out loud.

Happy (early) Birthday to Light Yagami, aka one of the biggest bastards in 2000's fiction! I love you so much.
