Y'all. Y'ALL. Okay, you know how I've been saying I want to get into fanbinding and maybe make books of my own stories? Welll, @jonny-toews sent me pictures of this absolutely gorgeous edition they made of one of my fics and I am just 🤯
Like...the cover. The graphics. The endpapers. The little bookmark charm. I am dead. Please bury me with a copy of this book.
I GOT MY COPY
IT'S SO AMAZING
Pics under the cut because I want to respect your dashes:
The cover for my own fic "Serpent Error Wandering", made by me in GIMP+Canva :)
This was my first proper rebind. I’ve read this copy of I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings so much, it deserved a decent bit of TLC. It was my first adventure with sprayed edges, and I did get some of the bird stencils upside down 🙃. All in all, I’m pretty happy with it though!
“Only one may climb back out of Hell…”
Covers for starbrigid’s phenomenal Mirror of Eurydice series. The styling is based on on the covers for some of the books on Goodreads, whose creator I was unable to find, but that specific styling was missing for a bunch of the books and so I created them all from scratch using ~*dark magic*~ (a combination of Canva and GIMP). As always, I make these because the Calibre auto-generated covers are fugly and i need better for my kobo, but I post them so other people can enjoy :)
Draco Malfoy and the Mirror of Ecidyrue
Draco Malfoy and the Heir of Slytherin
Draco Malfoy and the House of Black
Draco Malfoy and the Wheel of Hecate
Draco Malfoy and the Talon Brand
Draco Black and the Prisoner of Nurmengard
Draco Black and the Bastard Dragon
Lavvic (/Thin) and Amsterdam Four are the fonts, images are taken from Canva libraries, Wikimedia Commons, creative commons google images, and heavily modified HP wiki files. Remember, fuck joanne and fuck terfs.
I’m hoping to bind these fics as hardbacks! Would it be okay if I used some of this beautiful art in that process?
Yes, absolutely!!
serpent error wand'ring Chapter 1/5 - 2005 to 2008
Sid/Geno Locked Tomb/Lyctorhood/Horror AU! Enjoy!
IT'S HAPPENING!!!
This is a section break graphic for my upcoming Sid/Geno Locked Tomb crossover/Horror AU, and I'm super excited to start sharing it, hopefully by the new year!
now transparent!
if I were to one day attempt to bind the mirror of ecidyrue (it's really tempting) - would you mind if I used your covers for them? I really like the look of them.
you did really good at them :>
Yes, absolutely!! All of my covers can be remixed in any way you'd like. Just include a little attribution for me (and any specific image authors).
Glad you liked them 😊
Some of the book covers I've made these years. My dream is to have my work on an m/m book someday. If you're an indie author, I am completely willing to paint cover, back and spine for only 250 usd, as long as you give me 6 months to work on it.
Rushed (3 months) I will do for 500 usd. As long as its *m/m, indie, or masc aligned nb/m*. Published work paid me 1,200 usd to work on a cover for a year. And this is considered very very low wages. If you're interested, I'd love to work for you.
There’s a script for locker rooms. Sidney doesn’t know how to describe it, really. When he entered midget, a year younger than everyone else on the team, he remembers his mom being worried about him in the locker room. He had been getting so much attention and abuse from the parents she interacted with, the worry was only natural. But to Sidney’s surprise: it was fine. Hell, it was easy. Locker rooms have rules, and no one talks about them, and if you break them, you’re fucked. But Sid is a fast learner. He clung tight to those rules through all the trials of puberty, and by the time he got to Shattuck’s, he was golden. Weird, and superstitious, and persnickety, but golden. Unsuspected. Sid is good at following rules.

Are your commissions open? My wife offered me a hardcopy binding of one my fanfics for the holidays (it already has cover art) but I know that's really short notice!
Ahhh I'm so sorry, I only do ebook covers (I wouldn't know the first thing about hardcopy binding!) Hope you can find someone!
FFWAD: Winter's Crown by Astolat
My second bind for FFWAD is Winter's Crown. @astolat is such a brilliant writer, and this Game of Thrones fic blew me away when I read it. It took the Eldritch horror of the Night's King to a whole new level, and the worldbuilding was stunning. I'll take this version over the official one any day!
I bound the book in Magpie duo, with HTV cover decorations. I spent an inordinate amount of time figuring out how to create a crown in my design software that would come close to how I imagined based on the descriptions, and then more time trying to get a two-toned look with HTV.
I also experimented with finding a way to get some color into the pages of a book without a color printer, and through a lot of experimentation, discovered how to get illuminated initials and illustrations with some acrylic paint. (The trick: lay down some matte acrylic medium first, and then paint over that to prevent bleed through from the paint.)
omg, another one of @mourningmountainsbindery's absolutely STUNNING fanbindings! The crownnnnnn *___*
Fan Cover for A Year in Toussaint, by @astolat
Geralt had no damn idea what to do with a vineyard when Anna Henrietta gave him Corvo Bianco, but he figured it couldn’t be that bad.
This is one of my favorite Witcher fics by astolat, and is so sweet and clever and surprising. Go read it!
Art is Clouds over Olana by Frederich Edwin Church, of the Hudson River School; and Fonts are Black Rush and Trajanus Roman.
@labcoatsaresexy I just saw some of your fic covers and I wanted to show you one I made
For dead dove fics that you don't want to delete
ahh I love this! I also have a cover I use for any really NSFW fics--it’s so nice to have a default!
Fan Cover for “Old Dogs”, by @esamastation
In honor of The Last of Us TV show , I reread Esama’s FANTASTIC slowburn fic “Old Dogs”. Did you want Joel to find (romantic) love? Did you want Part 2 to not happen? Do you like dogs?
Alternatively, if you’re coming from Assassin’s Creed: Doesn’t Desmond deserve a hot, morally-grey DILF to love in the apocalypse?
Art generated by Midjourney AI, font is Headliner No. 45 by KC Fonts, all the rest of the editing done by me in GIMP.
Fan Cover for Tintagel, by @seperis
Love this fic–I think it does one of the best jobs at really deepening and heightening Arthur and Merlin’s canon relationship, and it is so ripe for rereading. Art is from Midjounrney, font is Fourth Reign by Måns Grebäck, edited together by me in GIMP. Share, download, go hogwild! Just read the orignal fic!!
