                 His expression has shifted into one hardened with focus,                   blue orbs narrowing as he trains them on the girl before                   him. She isn’t in any mortal danger. He knows this. He is                   aware of the amount of wolfsbane she has inhaled, and                  it is sufficient enough to put her out of play a while — to                   mess with her body and mind both  &  nothing further;                   he made certain. But she’s scared. He can see it there,                   the fear, dancing in her eyes as she struggles to breathe.                  Brought on due to her inexperience with feeling helpless,                  presumably.                        He carefully lowers himself onto one knee so that he’s at                        eye-level, one hand brushing over her shoulder [ clad in                          a forest green material ] while the other ghosts along the                         side of her face— fingers lacing into dark tresses as he half                         coaxes, half forces her to keep looking in his direction. He                        isn’t foolish enough to believe he can alleviate the effects,                        the only thing capable of that is time, but perhaps he can                        calm her down a little. Make it easier. If she cooperates,                        that is.                                ❝ It’ll pass. Just focus, Malia, it will pass. ❞

     [ The girl's fingers held with a grip like a vise to      whatever it was she had been leaning against      - in her panicked state, her mind didn't register      what it was, only that it felt like she was about      to die. And she was scared, more so than she      had ever been. It felt like she'd held her breath      for as long as her lungs could bare, and now      she could only gasp for precious air through a      straw. No matter how much she got, it wasn't      enough to satisfy her starved, frenzied body. ]

     [ It took more than a few moments for her eyes      to focus in on the shape in front of her, barely      even registering the hand on her shoulder, the      fingers on her cheek. When she actually saw      who was before her, she jerked backwards in      surprise, a completely instinctual reaction. ]
