SPREADING GOODNESS: A must!

Spreading Goodness, it is everyone’s duty.

The Golden Rule stated by Confucius, “Do not do unto others what you would not want to do unto you”, which literally means--- treat others the way you wanted to be treated.

We have lived a chaotic world which temper, patience, respect, kindness,and goodness gone bad. You can here news everywhere where people rampantly exploiting humanity and disregarding the law of lands.

People nowadays turn into a monstrous attitude whenever they feel of being into it. No patience, no forgiveness at all--- that’s what they are now. I am now generalizing all human but in a scale of ten, you cannot distinguish goodness in between.

It is everyone’s responsibility to uphold peace, respect, dignity and values. We have been taught since Pre-School things that we should respect--- “People, Nature, and Environment”. In higher years of education, peace gets “complex”, Peace which is done both warfare and democracy. 

There is only one peace I know--- a peace which do not cost money and guns, a peace which everyone grows fully. Peace is peace. When others lived their lives in harmony, and dignification, we area achieving peace. “Peace is merely not an idea, it is an obligation” Veronica Roth, writer of the famous Divergent Series. Her masterpiece was hovered to the idea of “Global Peace”, a peace which only can be achieved if we are divided- “Divided Peace” or selective harmony in society. But again, peace is peace. It is not just an idea but everyone must strive for it.

HOW TO WE MAINTAIN PEACE- “THE BASICS”

1. Live a life (Mind your own business)

2. Respect others way of life

3. Learn how to self-control (not everyone is your enemy)

4. Focus to your things (sometimes its not them, its you)

5. Love is the key to Peace

6. Goodness cost no dollar (priceless and affordable)

7. Be good always (learn your basic beliefs)

8. Have mercy and compassion for others (especially if you are able)

9. Listen not just tell and talk, Listen

10. Think before you act

Those are just the basic of achieving peace. It was taught in early formal schools. Our parents told us those things and we must relive unto that. SPREAD GOODNESS FOR IT IS A MUST!

CYBER BULLYING --- “Berirong”

Cyber bullying is a crime. Stop the hate, stop the crime!

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) recently conducted a study about how cyber bullying affects the youth. An article posted in Philstar Global last February 7, 2019, the UNICEF said that “Cyber bullying” affects 70% of the youth today.

If we are to analyze the number, 7 out of 10 youth today are experiencing bullying on the internet through the use of Social Networking Sites (SNS). This study only proves that there is a prevailing culture of harassment online, it could be in different forms--- worse or worst.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate only love can do that” -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We understand that those people who hold anger and reservations towards us are also experience darkness within their personal life. If we fight back with hate, the cycle will not stop but if we are to show love and compassion for them, the heart and acts that really understand their situation, we might get into a win-win situation.

I have listed here my three combat verses that would calm my heart and yours too if by chance you caught in to the momentum.

First, you control your emotions, you breathe some air and fill up your lungs! In Proverbs 10:12, it says that “Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers all wrongs”. Let us put ourselves in calmness before we judge things, and act upon it. 

The second thing you must to is to pray, nothing’s too hard for the Lord. This world taught us to be independent and away from the Creator’s heart but God did not stopped until He found us. Prayer changes everything. In Luke 6:27, it says that love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. If we pray for them, we show love and care for them.

Lastly, you should learn to what had happened and learn their nature. We must keep in mind that they are under the influence of non-physical element (it might be a drug or spiritual element). They are humans like us, no more than a human, and by that we should treat them even they are not doing unto us. “Love must be sincere, hate what is evil; cling to what is good” said in Romans 12:9. We love the sinners, those who sinned against us, after all we are all sinners who fall short in front of God, that is why we must forgive each other. Hate the sin, not the sinner.

“Beri-rong”, a trending Filipino click which means “Very wrong”. Cyber bullying is a wrong doing of a lost mind. This is not right. It is a crime--- stop the crime. Cyber bullying is BERIRONG!

TECHY --- the teacher in AP!

The 21st Century Social Studies Teacher

Students nowadays are learners that depend much on the convenience of the technology which reflects to what kind of education system we are having today.

These are the common setting of a teacher today:

Has a computer device which he or she is using in class.

Fond of utilizing social-media platforms.

Work with the students and co-teachers off the field and online (or in the internet)

He or she can source information within the reach of his fingertips (in just one click)

Records data & information such as grades, information sheet of students and teachers' stuffs.

Those listed activities of a 21st Century Teachers now are teachers of Social Studies. They collaborate with other people through the advent of technology, they teach and motivate students with the use of social-media platforms. These things define an effective Social Studies Teacher or an "Araling Panlipunan" (AP) teacher.

Students of today's generation, they learn from doing, from experiences and from a real field of work. As what Benjamin Franklin said, the late president of the United States and a Philantropist, a lover of humanity, he said — "Tell me and I forgot, Teach me and I may remember, Involve me so I may learn."
