I've been working on a shitton of sculpting projects and have a backlog a mile long to share.
But tonight I made the mistake of sitting in the same room as the news broadcast. So I let myself make a fucked up little guy. As a treat.
It's been too long since I just built something up completely from scratch. Felt the need to sculpt something new. No idea what, yet, I'm just going with the flow. My favorite armature I've made to date, though!
The 2nd mini I've ever painted (... to completion) and the first I've done in YEARS! It's Cae's summonable giant lizard (flavored Find Steed spell), Slacks!
Some things turned out better than expected, other things I'm not as happy with. But overall I'm happy with the result and the things I learned in the process!
Mini design by Epic Miniatures, print bought from Clovers3DPrints on etsy
Way overdue shots of my finished Displacer Beast custom funko. By far and away my favorite project to date, I LOVE how it turned out!
Boy do I wish I had used an airbrush for all my other projects. This thing is so convenient!!
Also... you can tell how invested I am in a project's outcome by how much effort I put into testing new supplies a day techniques. My random spare funko parts are serving a purpose now as I try to figure out how to pain the effect I want for my displacer beast, lol
Finished sculpting and priming my displacer beast custom
Still not sure how I want to paint this guy, but uh... playing around with my photo setup and blacklight sure is giving me ideas...
Back on my bullshit
The latest project: displacer beast. My favorite D&D monster!
Had the base funko and the idea in my brain forever, was just waiting for my creative energy to come back! And here we are!!
The Paladin/Rogue dynamic in our campaign is very "early Galinda and Elphaba" vibes here recently.
(Alt text has the captions so don't strain to read my chicken scratch!)
Need to do more drawing, and with Nona the Ninth coming put in less than a month, decided to take another go at trying to draw some Gideon and Harrowhark doodles
I couldn't get this out of my head. Had to draw it.
I am actually insanely proud of this. I haven't seriously tried to draw in ages.
Slowly but surely I'm working on more funkos!
(I fucking love my blacklight paints. I take every excuse I can to use them.)
Hot DAMN but the finish you get with Vallejo black polyurethane primer is satisfying as fuck!
Work burnout(aka determination to work on something fun)+ADHD+hyperfocus=working on 3 custom funko characters at once (4 if you count the druid's wildfire spirit as a separate funko but I consider it as part of the singular character build)
Finally finished my custom funko for my friend's dragonborn ranger and his panther companion
