🥰🧺Finished her!! 🧺🥰
After being sick for months and recovering from surgery I finally have my mojo back!! I finished weaving my basket and should be able to attach the rim and lash it in the next couple of weeks. I love weaving so so much.
Hello!
It's been 2 months since my bilateral salpingectomy. So here's my update:
I had 3 incisions, one in my belly button, one under my belly button on the panty line, and one on my left side. They are small, less than a half inch.
I was most sore the first 3 days after surgery and that was pretty much all from gas pain under my ribs and shoulders. They filled my abdomen with air for the surgery and not all of it got out so the air just floated around until it could escape through my skin. It felt like a stitch you get when you run too much.
The actual surgery pain felt like the day after you do a bunch of abdominal exercises, not horrible at all.
I didn't have any issues with going to the bathroom, but I took miralax every morning to make sure everything was easier for me during that time.
The bruising around my belly button was the worst bruise I had, not terrible, but enough to make you say, "Ouch!” if you saw it.
I work a desk job so I went back to work after a week, but I would recommend taking a full 2 weeks off. I was sore for about 3 weeks and that's about how long it took for most of the bruising to go away.
I was very tired for about a month, but I think that was a combination of my body healing from surgery and my body balancing itself out from having my implant taken out. (I've used nexplanon for 12 years).
Currently my incisions are just 3 tiny red scars that will eventually blend into my skin.
I haven't had any major issues. I believe my hormones are still learning to be on their own after 12 years of nexplanon.
I still have periods, the egg just has nowhere to go so it dissolves and is absorbed by my body.
I definitely recommend getting a bilateral salpingectomy to anyone who wants to be child free and not worry about birth control. The empowerment and safety I feel in my own body now is life changing.
2009 called, she wants her hair back! Haha! I needed a change, so naturally I had my hair chopped off and bleached.
🧿 Yesterday I had a bilateral salpingectomy. That means I am sterilized, no babies for me ever.
🔮 I was nervous because I've never experienced surgery, but it went well and the medical staff treated me with so much care and compassion.
🧿I am sore, but overall I feel good and I feel so safe in my body now!
🔮I am so excited to have my body with my own hormones again! I have used the nexplanon implant since 2014 and my body was getting so tired of it. I have had A TON of issues this past year that we have decided is most likely from the implant.
🧿I hope that my health will improve with the removal of the birth control, the safety in knowing I am protected from pregnancy permanently, and working closely with my doctor to improve the rest of my health issues.
🔮 If you have questions about my sterilization journey ask away!
Drew this a long time ago and have been thinking about this quote a lot lately.
I took the long way home from work today and stopped by the lake. I sat and watched the water go in and out and the fog drift by.
Slow morning at work and the first snow of the year. ☕ 🌨️

I dressed as a storm when I was a Kindergarten teacher's assistant for my class. I was teaching them about the weather at the time. My class loved it and the 5th Graders went crazy over it! They kept calling me a storm goddess. It was so fun!! I made it all from scratch! I'll post more of my costumes soon! I'm crazy for DIY Halloween costumes.
Summer is ending.
September means spooky coffee time!
We made my Mamaw and Papaw's recipe for old fashioned ice cream and added PawPaws to it this weekend. It was pretty good! I wish I had a better picture of the actual ice cream. I sure miss my Mamaw and Papaw.
Worked on my basket today. ☺️ I'm in love with weaving. Planning on getting a floor weaving loom this week and learning that as well!
