Actual OCD: Intrusive thoughts, flipping the light switch 8 times so you don’t stab your brother, picking holes in your skin

Cute eating disorders: Slim trim and beautiful, shyly refusing a second helping, dancer aesthetic

Actual eating disorders: Puffy cheeks and eroded teeth from excessive vomiting, hair growing over your freezing body and refusing to eat carrots because they’re too high in carbs

Adorable anxiety: just a smol bean, soft, must be protected from the world

Actual anxiety: crying so hard you throw up, shaking, losing sleep over a period after the “okay”

Schizophrenia in media: killer or insane crime solver that understands the villain, hears voices, is typically portrayed as dangerous. Never shows aid, therapy, or medication

Schizophrenia in real life: confusion, paranoia, fear, crying. Finally getting help and getting on medication that works. Still bouts of depression but has never been a danger to anyone. Spent 25 years working as a nurse. Struggled with alcohol because getting help would mean losing her job and her license that she worked so hard for. Finally retired and got the help she needed. Got sober and takes her meds. Paranoia is managed and she is so much better.

This is about mom.

Mental health is not a joke or a reason to judge someone's ability (especially when it has been proven through school and hard work).

Also everyone in the world stop saying that you are bipolar, schizophrenic, etc as a punchline or joke.

I asked my mom if she picked boy names when she was pregnant with me. She said "oh yeah! I never picked a girl name so I winged when they handed you to me... I went girl, bummer, ok *basic popular name* that works"

Anyway so she told me the name she would have picked and that is my name now

I have been asked why I didnt choose something more unique or something.

Heres why: this is the name I was meant to have. My mom loved it. She chose it. It's a family name. I'm now the only son that carries our last name.

Don't be jerks about people's name. Every name is special to the carrier. It is the unique sound that resonates with the deepest parts of our being. Everyone pronounces it a little different. When my mom is gone and I cant hear her anymore I'll still have the name she chose for me.

Dead children's playground

It's a playground behind Huntsville's oldest and largest cemetery. Playgrounds and picnic areas used to be common near cemetery's because of the Victorians. They went picnicking in cemeteries. Cemeteries were more like gardens and people spent time there so having somewhere for your children to play was useful. I played there as a kid all the time because we lived close and it was quiet. It is overhyped and there are a lot of rumors that are not true. Like it's the ghosts of murdered kids (not true) etc. Its a relic that people no longer understand and that's all. It is in a little valley and you can rock climb behind it. The position of the playground makes it very quiet which people find eerie. This is why sound design is used in modern parks like adding fountains to create a soundscape. Without idle sounds our brains focus on every small sound in an amplified way. Like swing moving in the breeze without any background noise is creepy but with background noise its barely noticeable.

The position of the playground makes it a lot like a natural anechoic chamber. External sounds, reverb, and echoes are muffled down. This makes sense so you could play and not disturb mourners or funerals.

The location also acts like a funnel for wind. So a breeze happens but is pushed downward into the park this causes uneven temperatures in the park and equipment to move from natural causes. The angles of the park in certain spots work like a whisper gallery (like grand central station).
