Ingres. Ink on paper, 2015
Below is a GIF showing the process of how i started and ended this painting of the The Monster. You can see some of the things that were going on in my mind in terms of head construction and color.
I tried my best to stay away from the ‘green makeup’ look of The Monster. I wanted to save that look for when I decide to paint Herman Munster, which I’m sure will be soon. I was going for a more authentic rotten flesh look. My girlfriend Veronica and I had just visited the The Museum of Death in Hollywood, CA. the day before I started the color on this painting, so with the images of dead flesh freshly burned in my mind, I went to to work on trying to recreate it.
Hope you guys like it!
