"Shhh!" Craig said, covering the blond boy's mouth. "Don't say that word! We can't let the other kids know."

"Why not?" the other boy said when Craig uncovered his mouth, biting down on his pink lower lip. Craig could kick himself for even focusing on such a thing.

Craig felt the sharp pain of hurt through their bond, but he could easily read it on his face. It makes him feel like a dick, which he supposed maybe he was. "Besides," he added. "I don't even want a soulmate, so just do us both a favor and leave me alone."

When Craig Tucker first meets his soulmate, he was 13 years old. He doesn't handle it well.
