BTW, sorry to all my “askcraneandmills” friends who ended up here because this is supposedly my Ichabod/Abbie RP blog. The local graveyards are often the first place Claire visits when she arrives in a new town or city. Drawn to the serene but melancholy atmosphere of the cemetery, prowling through the headstones to read the names and dates. Sometimes she would come across mourners, either alone or attending a service of a lost loved one and the heavy taste of their despair and anguish would linger unpleasantly in her gut. It is a blessing to find that this particular cemetery in Sleepy Hollow is rather quiet and without any lingering souls, so she wanders without distraction until reaching the quaint Church nestled in a corner of the valley.

It is a small building with an equally small belltower and pretty stained glass windows. Claire slides into the Church with the heavy door clicking shut behind her, shutting out the sounds of nature and welcoming the brunette into a blanket of silence. The air is dusty but the atmopshere languid. She dusts off her jeans and removes her black sweater before sitting down in a wooden pew, leaning back to gaze at the altar at the forefront of the chamber. Basking in the quiet.

She was there only a few minutes before the heavy door opened once more and a very tall man walked in. He wore a strange costume: boots and a long coat, his long hair half-pulled back, his entire outfit reminiscent of centuries past. He paced up to a table near the altar and lit three candles, pausing in silence before them for a few moments.
