Apparently a lot people are having a difficult time understanding what's going on so I'm going to be as clear as possible. People in Iran aren't protesting against Islam. They are protesting against their government and police brutality. They are protesting because their government is using religion as a means of oppression. They are protesting because women have had their choice taken away from them and they are being killed. Does this sound familiar in any way?????

one thing i looove about tolkien is that he’s 100% realistic about people’s physical capabilities like legolas is the only one in the fellowship able to do anything slightly out of the ordinary. the fellowship reaches a seven foot chasm and they’re like damn. guess we’re trapped here then. legolas walks a tightrope across the nimrodel and the others are like absolutely not??? frodo and sam spend half a chapter figuring out how to get down a cliff. they climb up the first flight of stairs at cirith ungol and they’re sweating and have to take a nap. no superheroics here

Thinking about how a year ago I was interviewed by a very popular radio show about my long COVID symptoms (I was over a year into experiencing them). They ended up not using my story because “it was too sad” and “I didn’t recover like other people”. They told me to contact them when I had recovered to potentially share my story in the future. I wrote back and told them that most people with long COVID will never recover, and that they weren’t accurately reporting on how COVID affects people. They never replied.

A year later and my symptoms still haven’t improved at all. Anyways, here’s your reminder that the COVID reporting you’re reading (at least in the U.S.) is probably not accurate and is not actually reflecting the suffering of real people.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense.

If someone knows other languages and can translate this, that would be wonderful because cops are no longer obligated to tell people their rights. This puts everyone but cops at risk. Let's make sure everyone on Tumblr knows.

honestly i think a good place to start for People Who Don’t Have Disabilities But Want To Help Out People Who Do is to just… take more breaks when you’re doing stuff. set a precedent where you are not always pushing through fatigue just because you can. it is literally humiliating to have to be the first and or/only person to take a break from stuff constantly. it makes me feel so terrible to be doing the least amount of work in a group setting even when i am doing as much as i am physically capable of, even in circumstances when i know no one else is necessarily judging me for it.
