                                        oookay. it’s a bit difficult to look at morgan and take that entire sentence serious, when all cordelia can think about is that one time tharja put a curse on robin, so that their tactician showed up on battlefield in the form of a frog. the only thing she can do is hope that that’s not the kind of disorganization the child is talking about.  ❛  surprising discoveries could mean a lot. destruction. torture. death.  ❜  you know, the usual.  ❛  and i’d rather not discover those things. maybe try being organized for once ?  ❜

                                         ❛  no.  ❜  her voice is firm as she replies ; not to intimidate cherche into agreeing, but to show her how sure cordelia is of that belief. if forever’s too good to be true, what are they even fighting for ? if forever doesn’t exist, why do they watch their comrades die in a useless battle ? why do your friends sacrifice themselves for you, just because you were the youngest, the legacy they wanted to leave ?

                                             of course, war is inevitable, and cordelia knows that. with this being the second one she’s fighting in, how couldn’t she? there’ll always be people trying to spread darkness and hopelessness, but that doesn’t mean that she can give up. who’ll be there to stop those people otherwise?

                                          ❛  we’re fighting for forever, cherche.  ❜  maybe it’s an invasion of privacy, to take the other’s hand in both of hers, but cordelia is too caught up in her speech to notice the touch, the sudden closeness to her comrade, to her friend.  ❛  just think of the people we’ll save. every villager, every noble, every soul we pull away from death’s grasp. because of us, they can get married. because of what we do, they can have children, buy a nice house, live together happily ever after. they’ll have their forever, because of us.  ❜ and there’s a pause there, because cordelia understands cherche’s doubts. she lived through them before, a fact that makes her even more determined to show her how to keep her light.

                                           being around sakura makes cordelia happy. it’s a simple way of putting it, but what else to say when that’s exactly how it feels? there’s a warmth to the presence of the hoshidian princess, something that flows through her every word and action  ——  a certain light, and joy you can’t help but reciprocate. everything about her reminds cordelia of why she became a knight in the first place : to protect the people like her, leading a country with their love and bravery, rather than blind hate and violence.

                                          ❛  that’s … such a nice way of putting it, actually.  ❜  there are so many ways to interpret her words, and each one of them gives hope.  ❛  thank you, lady sakura.  ❜

The mere allegation that his romantic proclivities should be a topic of intrigue, let alone something less than barren, was nigh laughable, if not utterly misguided in itself. Still, her dedication to the subject was a credit nonetheless.

                                              ❛  to speak freely, sir, ylisse is a place  ——  and while i understand the duty and love we feel toward our country, there has got to be someone who holds your heart !  ❜  it isn’t only curiosity that has a firm grip on cordelia, though it was her reason for bringing this topic up in the first place, days ago. and who can blame her, really ? it makes one wonder, whenever you see the almighty frederick, standing solid and strong, unreachable in both power and companion. he is always kind, and always helpful, but love ?

                                               love is a different topic altogether. he deserves it, to feel at ease after a long day, to fall into the arms of someone he loves. and if there truly isn’t anyone occupying his thoughts yet  ——  obviously, cordelia will take it upon herself to help him get to that point.  ❛  is there nobody who makes your chest flutter ? nobody who makes your hands feel clammy when you speak to them ?  ❜
