This is a national tragedy. So many were lost because of ARROGANT PEOPLE.

also it’s rly interesting to see how the series uses sin’s constant alcohol consumption as comedic relief bc it’s a major issues actually ^_^ when the fifth princess of kou claimed that he had sexually assaulted her during his stay in her empire and he didn’t remember anything of that sort , NONE of his generals believed him when he was innocent , exactly because they knew there was alcohol at the banquet and none of them had accompanied him to warrant his innocene either (even if he was freed of that accusation by yamuriah’s magic later on , but that’s not the point) : that just proves that they know about his addiction , but nobody besides ja’far dares to speak up against his behaviour because the others regard him too highly / hold too much respect for him.

but sinbad knows that it’s not the best habit , but apparently it’s the only thing that helps him keep his ptsd - induced flashbacks at bay and make him go to sleep at night (because sleeping pills / medication wasn’t around during this time) and it went against his pride to help yamraiha to put him to sleep with her magic every night. he just really wanted to forget everything that happened to his first kingdom and alcohol is his escape , so fuck ohtaka for portraying his addiction as literally a laughing matter ^_^
