...who, being a pragmatic little thing, goes "huh, powerful demon tried to kill a peak lord. Guess that's everyone's problem since we're martial family. Better go tell Liu-Shishu he's got a new target". And possibly interrupts a peak lord meeting to deliver this message.

And then Linguang-Jun finds out the hard way that actually, humans are really scary because of their ability to form pack bonds with just about anything and their inclination to hunt in packs.

It does not go well for Linguang-Jun. It goes fatally unwell for him. And all of his supporters.

Because one does not simply try to murder one of twelve peak lords without the other eleven coming out swinging.
