Finally crawling out of my grave after this college project. Thought it would be nice to introduce my own project to the public! Sorry HK fans who thought I’d only post fan content, I’ve been a specbio nerd in a trench coat all along…

I’ve been developing this world for so long I couldn’t summarize it in a single image, so I thought I’d start with a few characters from the single sapient species on the planet, who call themselves Arqrons. These are First Ruthless Strike (left, she/her), Three Red Rays (middle, he/they) and Sunlight Atop Tungsten Pillars (right, they/she). No subspecies involved, just a variety of ethnicities, body types and genders. The angle of their heads and their expressions tragically hide a lot of their fun features like their serrated beaks, split top lip and their ability to turn the latter inside out, but that can be for another post. They also speak with their nostrils, the flesh coloured holes on their forehead.

The banana horse and lizard seal are, unfortunately, the two characters that I think about the most and it takes much of my strength to not write 4 million words about them in this very post. All you really have to know is that I like writing sad, complicated people in complicated relationships to really capture that essence of being queer and in love in a hostile environment. Or they’re just gay aliens. Take your pick.

I’m very much a social media hermit who gave up on large public platforms years ago so this is the most interaction an art piece from me has gotten, lol. Seems that people liked my previous post! Here’s a work in progress piece of the one thing I wish the game had (Bell Beast pet button) and some further elaboration on my Hornet design. There’s not many games where I can scratch my insect drawing itch, so I’ll take any opportunity I get. A moment of silence for the lineart that will inevitably get obscured by the lighting.

Ok so I waited until my housemate @chimeragirldick beat act 3 to post this cuz like. I havent actually beaten it ok its really hard and im not very good at games, neither is my other housemate ( @creaturecrater ) so we spoiled ourselves and ive been torturing lucky with my madness since. our champion, shrimpee, has now succeeded and we're in trenches together the way god intended. anyway i totally wanted to be the kinda guy who dropped madness and then went into the void but im a yapper and ohhhh my yuri my yuri my yuri act 3 was such fanservice its actually embarassing how much ive cried over it LMFAO. im so lame

oh also i have a speedpaint because i locked in seriously hard for this yay so its not covered in randomass doodles like any other file ive ever drawn anything in.

um also ive been thinking a lot about that one post that said a good alternative lacenet ship name being horce i forget who posted it but yeah i think we need to canonise that.

The dragon is done!

I tried my best to let all the animals take up an equal amount of space (Arapaima, Thorny Devil and Raccoon), it was hard but I'm happy with the result.

It doesn't have a species name yet (I'm awful at naming things), please feel free to write name suggestions in the comments.

It's about a meter long from nose to tail tip.

It's an aggressive and opportunistic omnivore who preferes meat. If hungry enough it won't hesitate to take down a housecat.

Its front paws are very dexterous and it can easily hold objects with them.

Its wings are not big enough for it to fly long distances, but it'll use them to get to get to higher ground or to quickly escape larger predators.

The spikes around its neck are perfect defense against any predator who would try to bite there. And the rest of the creature is covered in thick overlapping scales and patches of fur.

Its big tail acts as a rudder while in flight. The tail can also go from side to side as a threat display and to fan out a smelly odour that it marks its territory with.

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.
