Finally finished this Susan Sto Helit piece, just in time to kick off the spooky season!

my witchy resolution for 2020 is just to do more & to celebrate every wheel of the year festival

i managed to celebrate imbolc with a rly nice walk, and some honey + candle lighting. i do feel a little sad to let brigid go, this year. 

i wasn’t able to celebrate ostara - (which makes sense considering the yr/ timing!) & i dont think i celebrated beltane either tbh. 

but i did manage to bake and have somewhat of a picnic for lughnasadh (i made delicious bread and some great strawberry jam!), baked apple jam filled doughnuts for mabon & made grumpy pumpkin soup, stayed awake all night and took some time to just breath an contemplate the future for samhain. for yule i was very chill about it and just baked some pfefferneusse. 

as you can probably tell i leaned a lot into the baking side of ritual and i did also try to sort of ‘go deeper’ into my practice by researching an reading more from witches but i dont think i found what i was looking for really.... (**enter judaism??**) i just want some kind of solid relationship with g?d with some ritual, some feasting, some observance and company. i think a large part of me wanting more than this [including quakerism... which was a kind of nice space to inhabit for a while but i dont think can give me much more bc i dont believe in christianity] is about not wanting to practice alone all the time. & i properly started to believe in g/d in may of 2020 so i feel like that also opened up avenues for me that i felt i couldnt explore before. i really just dont want to be lonely anymore. 

~ on a practical level, i do feel like quite a lot of this blog in the past has been about like nature appreciation, some art, ~witchy aesthetics n such~ pictures of candles and some crystals, some tarot & then ofc the terry pratchett appreciation lol (and other books too i guess) as well as reflections on care work. so i dont think i’ll ever necessarily delete this entirely but i might go through and get rid of some posts i dont llke/connect with anymore.  & obviously if this makes anyone uncomfortable then unfollowing me is absolutely fine!!

And Susan was bright enough to know that the phrase ‘Someone ought to do something’ was not, by itself, a helpful one. People who used it never added the rider ‘and that someone is me.’ But someone ought to do something, and right now the whole pool of someones consisted of her, and no one else.
