anadalca:
Ana couldn’t believe it. Taking a deep breath she wondered what she should do. Part of her wanted to run away and cry, but another part of her wanted to embrace her old friend. Looking up at Cris she did something that was completely out of her character. Ana quickly wrapped her arms around Cristian and then after a moment she let go. “Its probably best if you forget you saw me, Dragoste” Ana stated softly looking down at the ground. calling him the pet name she always called him growing up. Balling her fists in a ball, she knew she would be calling her father. It was a strange mixture of anger and happiness that ran through her body. “And, no you never have done anything wrong to me. Ever.”
It had been longer than he cared to admit since he’d heard that name. It was strange when she wrapped her arms around him but oddly familiar and he was having a really hard time. Could this be the same girl he’d spent almost his entire childhood with, running in and out of their mother’s kitchens and rolling around in the dirt together? He looked at her when she pulled away, she looked so much older, so much harder than he remembered, almost as if she were angry and sad at the same time. It was hard to picture, the little girl he’d known, growing up to this, but that name. No one had ever called him that, not even his mother. She was the only one that had ever called him that. He could hear it, in her high pitched 6 year old voice, laughing as they raced each other down the street, even though they weren’t allowed because of what was happening in the country at the time. He could hear it as she called him that while punching him in the shoulder when their mom’s weren’t looking. “... Ana? Ana is-- is that you?”
