That should be illegal to send pics like that to your friends who are working in the really cold climate.
I saw photo of some guy with fire behind on pinterest and had to move all my projects to do this one lol Listened to Slipknot - Duality Kinda fits Dude found out about Burning Man
re-watching the original trilogy is great because you really get a sense for how weird luke skywalker is, just how quickly he becomes that weird AND how quickly he commits to it. Like he's honestly pretty chill in a new hope, but the absolute INSTANT he figures out he can move shit with his mind he goes full send on the cryptic off-putting bullshit. Walking around in full black robes, speaking in riddles, aura farming and backflipping whenever physically possible. He's clearly annoyed when he first meets yoda in empire, but he dismisses that pretty quickly in favour of ALSO becoming an over-dramatic space wizard. The combination of his two teachers being yoda and obi-wan kenobi and him being the son of anakin and padme creates the single most intense and fundamentally kind force sensitive perfectly embodying the heart of the jedi order whilst also serving egregious amounts of cunt and being bizarre to be around. He would have THRIVED as a jedi master during the high republic. he would have been every padawan's favourite and every other master's worst nightmare
What have you become
I love all the CW episodes between Obi-Wan and Satine where they talk about when they met a year before Phantom Menace. Satine goes on about still having the scars. From where Obi-Wan dropped her.
I needed context. So here it is. I imagine Qui-Gon shipped Obi-Wan and Satine as much as Anakin did, stood there watching them bicker with a martini in his hands. Qui-Gon would be minus the martini and pretending not to notice.
just watched tcw s4 e4: shadow warrior and oh my god??
padmé was just as crazy about anakin as anakin was about her!! this former queen of naboo, this renowned senator, fighting as hard as she can to stop the war, gives up the separatists’ most notorious general to save anakin.
she even says it: grievous’s capture could win this war for the republic. but she chooses to save anakin instead, damn all the consequences. what a stunning piece of characterisation for padmé, honestly. she would choose anakin over everything, over and over.
my goddd they make me go insane
original star wars trilogy: wow what a wonderful fun adventure for kids and families:) a beautiful story about hope and the hero's journey
prequels: welcome to evil grooming world
Ani always gives Obi-Wan something on a consistent but random day of the year. It’s never anything big. Maybe he will fix up something of Obi-Wan’s that broke (Obi-Wan hadn’t even said anything about it breaking) and make him tea. Maybe he gives Obi-Wan a drawing. Maybe, when he’s older, he will take Obi-Wan out for lunch. The gift is always accompanied by fruit and water.
Obi-Wan doesn’t realize how routine it’s become until the second year of the war when it stops. He just knows something is missing. But they have just been so busy, and Anakin is still so hurt over the faked death incident, and and and.
There is just too much going on, so Obi-Wan lets it go. He has never been able to find a particular significance to that day, and he has looked it up several times (he’s only ever asked Anakin once because anything more than that would require communication skills). It continues to itch at him, especially come the next year when nothing happens on that day. But he tries to put it out of his mind.
When he is on Tatooine, Ben Kenobi hears a coworker talk about leaving early to go celebrate the day with his family. Something in him knows what day it is and so he breaks his rule of keeping his head down to ask what the holiday is. He says a friend of his that grew up on Tatooine would always give Ben a gift on that day but would never say why. His coworker, a freedman of Tatooine, is kind enough to tell Ben that it is a day where children are meant to show their respect and appreciation for the adults that raised them. So few enslaved families get to stay together, so this is a day about honoring those who chose you and who you chose back.
Ben’s coworker, a freedman of Tatooine, will celebrate the day by going into town and visiting the quarters of the woman who lived next to him throughout his childhood. When his father was sold off-planet, this neighbor would share food with Ben’s coworker. She taught him how to cook for himself, how to tell friends from enemies. She is still enslaved and he has moved to a safer area, where his children can grow up free. But Ben’s coworker tells him that every year he brings her fruit and water. Every year he makes the journey through Mos Espa to thank Jira for choosing him.
Obi-Wan dreams that night.
Lately I have really been rocking with Obi-Wan who needs to believe Anakin and Vader are different people. Obi-Wan who cannot live with the idea that he left his boy, his Padawan, his brother, his son on the banks of Mustafar. Obi-Wan who cannot reckon with the fact that Anakin did those horrible things, and that Obi-Wan still loves him even though he did terrible things.
I’ve said before I loooooove an Obi-Wan who doesn’t see himself until Anakin’s father until his exile on Tatooine, usually playing with the idea of “how else could I still love him”. HOWEVER, I think an Obi-Wan who needs to accept his role as Anakin’s father because it proves Vader is a different person and “no parent could ever do that to their child. He wasn’t Ani then no that was someone else that was someone else.” is very fun.
Obi-Wan vehemently denying Anakin can be brought back, doubting Luke could succeed not just because of old Jedi doctrine but because he needs to. If Anakin is in Vader, if Anakin could be saved, that would be Obi-Wan did leave him to burn alive. That would mean that Obi-Wan violently and angrily mauled the boy who used to flinch at loud sounds, the boy who Obi-Wan promised he would never physically hurt.
That would mean that Palpatine’s influence went beyond Anakin’s immediate fall. And Obi-Wan is deep in survival mode. He just can’t think about that.
It’s not that Obi-Wan always believed so strongly in this separation, or even that he always believes it come time for ANH. He has nightmares of little Ani screaming for help in the fire. He thinks of the dear Emperor when he see’s men around Mos Espa who try to take advantage of their status and age and exploit people who don’t know much. He see’s Anakin everywhere.
Obi-Wan is closer to understanding Anakin than he ever has before but he doesn’t let himself. 19 years is a long time and slowly, overtime Obi-Wan does convince himself that Anakin is dead. Vader is alive. Obi-Wan hurt Vader. Anakin could never come back and he is a machine not a man. Because Obi-Wan would never have abandoned the man who he called his brother and the boy who he cared for like a son.
It’s a fun inverse of Anakin who also needs to see Vader and Anakin as separate people. Lets adopt maladaptive coping skills with Papa!!!
We are too ready to accept Obi-Wan as a reliable narrator! The people of Tatooine call Obi-Wan a crazy old hermit. Let him be funny and light in ANH because he has been so desperate and alone his reality is a little warped.
Anyways. Vader and Anakin are different because Obi-Wan so desperately needs them to be.

been getting into this super niche film series lately, you might not have heard of it before
I have this cereal bowl. this bowl came out when The Clone Wars (2008) was on tv so it’s obviously old. It has anakin, obi-wan, and yoda on it.
ANYWAY right next to anakin it says jedi master… and I don’t have the heart to tell the bowl makers that I think they missed something—
