Spinning top battles are a common children's game in the early twenty-first century. Players launch their tops into some chosen arena, either by directly spinning the toys or by using a provided launcher (more common). When a top is knocked out of the arena or stops spinning (or, for some versions of the toy, when a designated detachable part pops up or out), the top is defeated and the other top wins.

Rather than having a top face another top, the above video demonstrates a spinning top interacting with a toy slime ball, which halts its spinning momentum instantly by getting tangled up and engulfing it.

The follow up post humorously depicts somebody pretending to be extremely invested in the concept of top battles, who is horrified, angry, and disbelieving that a top could "lose." This over the top, repetitive denial represents an absurd character who cares too much about the honor of a toy. The absurdity of the character provides a source of humor.
