missing satoru hours
satosugu for pride month
Cold hands for six hurting eyes.
Suguru seems like the type of person to have cold hands all year round. Even in the heat of the summer, he had two ice packs always ready for Satoru to put over his eyes.
No grave can hold my body down
The second and last chapter of my canon divergent, sort of a study in infinity fic is done
--
“Satoru,” he says when Satoru suggests that they stay for another day in Okinawa. “You've been using your technique nonstop since yesterday, haven't you? And what about sleep? You were planning on staying awake all night again, right? Are you sure you don't need to go back?” He knows he's fretting, but he can't help it. He is extremely worried, about the mission, about Riko, about Satoru, and how he may overwork himself.
Satoru waves it off by assuring him that he's not tired. “Besides, you're here too,” Satoru adds with a soft smile that is reserved for him and Suguru is powerless in front of that smile.
As Satoru knocks a hand to his chest, there is a subtle barrier making skin contact absent, which is expectable considering the risk. So Suguru smiles back, still worried but relenting for now.
Later that night, they stand in the sitting area of their hotel room and Suguru presses kisses to the circles under Satoru's eyes, to his cheeks, his temples, his lips; trying to linger in the moment, trying to make time stretch so that at least the strain of using infinity is lessened for a few stolen moments.

No grave can hold my body down
Summary: Suguru and Satoru's story through the years told through infinity
Inspired by this beautiful art by @owwllly which has been on my mind since I saw it :')
---
Satoru is quiet and reserved when they meet; body tense as though prepared for confrontation or fight, eyes narrowed like they are scrutinizing each part of Suguru, mouth drawn in a firm, unfriendly scowl.
(Later this will be something Suguru marvels at, that Satoru was ever anything other than the brightly smiling and sometimes maddening boy Suguru gets to know him as.
Later Shoko will complain about it, how he spoils Satoru and now he's annoying because of him. Suguru will quip back and say that Satoru was always annoying, but secretly smile because he's glad and even more secretly, proud of achieving that.
Later this would be something he muses about, how they grew up so differently yet same; Suguru was a talkative and mischievous kid, before he starting seeing curses and his parents started seeing him differently, before fear and anger took over everything else, before he realized it was better to not talk about all the things that made him different.
He wonders if Satoru was ever like that, if those silent imposing walls of Gojo clan ever allowed a young Satoru to run through the corridors, laughter echoing in the halls.
It's heartbreakingly difficult to imagine.)
But here in this moment he doesn't know all that, can't see the trajectory of their lives or the tangled strings of their fate.
In this moment, there's a boy with crystal eyes and snowflake lashes and Suguru, a little dumbstruck, thinks that he looks like the winter sky.

All the art and posts about satosugu's death anniversary are making me want to write again so here's a drabble about infinity
—
They've just finished a mission when Suguru notices it. As they stand on the sidewalk, waiting for the driver to come pick them up, Satoru keeps rubbing his eyes, and his shoulders are drooping from exhaustion.
“Are you okay?” Suguru asks.
“I'm fine,” Satoru says shortly.
“Satoru,” Suguru chides, because by now he knows how often Satoru works through exhaustion, and how overwhelming his six eyes can be. “Are your eyes hurting again?”
The way Satoru looks away is an answer in on itself.
Suguru steps forward and raises his hand to cover Satoru's eyes, he has done it enough times for it to be a habit now– until Satoru can shut himself in a dark room this is how they make do on long missions.
But when Suguru doesn't feel the flutter of his eyelashes against his palm, he frowns. “You still have infinity on?”
“We're outside,” Satoru argues, and steps away from Suguru’s hand, as if reminded that he's not supposed to have any weaknesses here, exposed like this.
Suguru understands; the school is the safest and he knows that Satoru would prefer to only drop infinity once they've reached back, but sometimes he agrees to drop it once they're in the car.
Suguru would let it be, but it'll still take the driver some time to be here, and Satoru's eyes are already red-rimmed.
“It'll be okay, you don't sense anyone around right?” Suguru tries to convince him. “And I'll protect you.” He flicks his wrist and the rainbow dragon appears. The curse looks gigantic on the sidewalk, but he knows that it'll work best to make Satoru less wary.
Like most of his curses, it's very fond of Satoru, so it huddles around him, nudging his shoulder. Satoru rolls his eyes but isn't completely successful in hiding his smile as he turns to pet it, finally dropping infinity.
Suguru smiles, a little surprised by the sheer relief he feels at that, at seeing the tension in Satoru's shoulders loosen a little.
