HORMONE BLOCKERS CAN HAVE SERIOUS NEGATIVE (AND SOMETIMES PERMANENT) AFFECTS. This includes genitals never reaching adult size and permanantly assuring the person can't have surgery, and loss of a lot of bone mass leading to osteoporosis. It also puts kids behind on the puberty and growth curve (which can cause distress) I'm not saying we should never put minors on it but please stop saying it's all reversible and safe because its still a body altering drug, even if its less drastic than hrt.

1) This affects MtF patients only. This doesn’t even affect FtM patients.2) This affects MtF patients who desire bottom surgery only, which, while an obvious and important step in the transition process, isn’t one every patient desires.3) This is one possibility for MtF bottom surgery. A quick Google search would have told you there are options that don’t fully rely on the male genitalia. [1] [2]4) The point of hormone blockers is to delay natural puberty. The patient can always choose to stop them and let natural puberty commence.

A study following 127 patients receiving puberty blockers concluded that the blockers had minimal effect on the bone mineral density, and upon receiving cross-sex hormone therapy was able to fully catch up to normal or near-normal levels.

Truly the worst possible outcome: discomfort over being a late-bloomer (something that can happen naturally as well). You people are getting really desperate now if you’re gonna use that as an argument against hormone blockers.

I’m not saying hormone blockers are reversible and safe. Medical professionals working with gender dysphoric children and these treatments are saying it.
Hormone blockers are ultimately about risk reduction. No medication is 100% safe. But in the case of a genuinely dysphoric teenager, who is at risk for, or already suffering from: major depression, self-harm, eating disorders, trauma/PTSD, permanent physical alterations that may result in unsuccessful transition and life-long gender dysphoria, and at worst, suicide – then hormone blockers preventing and reducing all these symptoms are by far the safer option.
It’s funny. It takes no more than a few quick Google searches to find this info. Took me mere seconds. If you were genuinely so concerned, you could have done this yourself. But you people don’t really care for gender dysphoric children. And you don’t care for the facts.
