Zionists on here that are mad at Israel having to give up more hostages than Hamas are SO close to getting the point that it's actually sad.
Let's talk about why Israel has so many hostages ready to swap.
This 2023 article by Human Rights Watch talks about how of the 7000 hostages held by Israel, a majority of them have never been convicted of a crime. In fact 2000 of them were being held in administrative detention where this is no charge or trial at all. And these numbers are actually outdated.
This 2024 article by Save the Children says that number has increased from 7000 to 9000. Of those 9000 around 500 are minors who are held without charge or trial. And these numbers are still outdated because Israel has been increasingly more violent since the reports have come out.
"A Save the ChildrenāsĀ reportĀ in July 2023 showed that even prior to October 7, Palestinian children arrested by Israeli forces faced immense emotional and physical abuse, with four out of five - 86% -Ā of them being beaten, and 69% strip-searched.Ā "
So yeah these Zionists are either intentionally trying to distort the facts or they're so close to understanding the truth which is:
Israel has 30x (or more) hostages than Hamas. And that Oct 7th is a result of this disproportionate violence Palestinians experience.

Today I learned about Khalida Jarrar who was part of the recent hostage exchange. Khalida is a Palestinian political leader (she's part of the PFLP and PLC) and human rights and feminist advocate has been held in administrative detention since December 2023 (without charge). She has reportedly spent the past six months in solitary confinement in a 2-by-1.5m cell.
The pics above show what she looked like when she was released vs what she looked like when she went in.
She's been arrested multiple times for things like participating in demonstrations on International Women's Day, advocating for Palestinian prisoners, attending the Human Rights Defender's Summit in Paris (if this doesn't sound absolutely crazy to you then you're a lost cause). Check out her Wiki page. Israel has continuously abused this woman for standing up for basic human rights.
Reading her wiki and all the articles I found about her made me so furious. It's disgusting how she has been abused by Israel.
There are THOUSANDS of cases like this where Israel will simply arrest Palestinians. Hold them hostage without trial. No charge no reason.

this one liberal dude on twitter made the (correct) take that parents have overwhelming power over their kids and very often abuse it and restrict children's rights and he was ratio'd by conservatives, communists and liberals alike who made comments like "my kids will have rights when they pay the bills" to "aw are you upset mom and dad didn't you get you a lega set for christmas". way to prove his point lol! any criticism of the power dynamics adults and particularly parents have over kids and how it is often used to abuse kids or refuse to let them exist as themselves is drowned in mockery and the idea that parents have absolute authority over children and that any less than that is actually spoiling them.

The fact that this view is so rare despite also being, in my view, extremely obvious is I think a reflection of how strongly incentives mediate our beliefs. My experience growing up was that by six years old every single person I knew had developed a thorough class consciousness for the "child" class and as I've gotten older, everyone I know who's become a parent has forgotten it. Because ya know, it's not in their interests any more. The authoritarian structure of the parent/child relationship should also be the prototype for how sociological systems replicate, because parenting styles are so directly passed down generationally.
