Since we have now reached the hottest month of the record since the dustbowl July of this year, I think it's no better time for me to finally cross-post my list containing major organizations that are trying their very best to help turn things around in this predicament; so that everyone can feel empowered to donate to help with their cause.
Clean Air Task Force - A US-based non-governmental organization that’s working to reduce air pollution by reducing the use of fossil fuel based energy and replacing it with renewable technology.

Good Energy Collective - This organization outreaches to US communities and politicians to help build support for advanced nuclear power, a powerful and effective source of clean energy.

Good Food Institute - This research program works to make alternative proteins, to replace livestock based meats- such as beef, which is a major culprit for greenhouse gas emissions such as methane.

Industrious Labs - This organization advocates for the “heavy industry” to go green. It pushes corporations to make low-carbon commitments, and for governments to commit to regulations and public funding to accelerate the transition.
Putting climate solutions to work.
Wren - An organization that gives you a monthly subscription to help offset your carbon footprint. It takes your money and uses it to fund climate change solutions, such as rainforest protection and carbon removal methods.
Wren helps you calculate and offset your personal carbon emissions through a monthly subscription.
Energy for Growth - This organization strives to end energy poverty via climate friendly solutions.
Project Innerspace - This US-based nonprofit’s goal is to expand global access to geothermal energy. They map out geothermal resources and identify geothermal projects in need of further funding.
Project Innerspace, led by Jamie Beard, is focused on taking geothermal exponential.
Opportunity Green - A UK-based nonprofit aimed to cut aviation and maritime shipping emissions, via regulations and policy initiatives, as well as encouraging the private sector to adopt clean energy alternatives.
Opportunity Green is a bold, brave NGO using the power of law, economics and advocacy to close the gaps in global climate action.

i recently found out the funniest thing about big horses recently which is that for centuries humans have sworn that the feathering on big horse’s legs has been bred in there for a reason, and the reason given is usually something to do with how it helps keep the joints warm and safe when the big horse is doing hauling work in fields.
the thing is: it doesn’t appreciably do that, because the feathers wick up water and mud, which cancels out any insulation advantage they might hypothetically confer, and also it wasn’t even put there on purpose.
the Leg Get More Hair gene is just linked to the Bones Get More Big gene. when you breed any lineage of horses to have bigger bones–not just taller, but chunkier–the leg hair just happens anyway. so every single breed of draft horse has feathered legs, and even carriage horses like friesians get feathers once they hit a certain threshold of lorge.
when you supersize your horse, mother nature throws in a free pair of booties. how cool is that?
There's an open pit in the middle of our office plan that drops down into a bunch of very sharp spikes that kill you instantly. This is bad. People keep falling in there and dying. Someone put a sign up, the other day, all bright yellow so you can't miss it, that says "Beware!!! Spikes!!!"
The office immediately split into two factions over it. One says that if anyone falls in the spike pit it's their own fault for being so stupid and not watching where they're walking, so we should remove the sign. The other says that the sign is an insult, there shouldn't be a spike pit in our office at all, and having the sign up like that is just normalising the existence of the spike pit, so we should remove the sign.
We ended up removing the sign. Probably for the better. Still... for a while there it looked like it might have worked...
Nobody has ever been capable of writing a scathingly harsh and well formulated satire about the perils of modern capitalism, that doesn't just get immediately one-upped by some random food service worker talking about their actual week.
