Keegan couldn’t help but give a pleased smile as Crystal complimented his pictures. That was the quickest way to Keegan’s heart - tell him you liked his pictures, and he immediately warmed up to you. Tell him which part of the pictures you liked the most and he could spend hours talking about how long he had waited to find that perfect angle and why he chose to photograph the old woman in the street. Every picture had a story. Casting one last look at his box, Keegan shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans as he wandered after Crystal. Her place was homey. Not too small, not too big, just right. It had a lot of light, which Keegan liked. He peeked in each room he was offered and when he came to her bedroom, he grinned. “Showing me your bedroom already?” He joked and then flushed. Maybe she wouldn’t find that funny. “Sorry. Bad joke,” he apologized and cleared his throat, the tips of his ears still red. Sometimes Keegan just blurted out what he was thinking.
Eager to get the attention off his awful attempt at flirting, Keegan rubbed the back of his neck and swung his body around so that he was facing the kitchen again. “Do you mind if I get something to drink? I’m pretty thirsty.” Also, the more things that were in Keegan’s mouth, the less stupid words he could say. He followed Crystal back to where they had started and opened up her fridge, rummaging through until he found a water and was twisting the bottle cap off. Good. Yes. “Just..pick whichever one you want,” he offered, wiping his mouth. “I’ve got hundreds in there, all different kinds. There’s sunsets, sunrises, houses, trees, even some people if you want to try something new.”
Crystal could feel the heat rise in her face when he joked about her showing him her room. Was that too far? Maybe that was too far. She really didn’t want to freak him out, she kind of enjoyed having him around. Crystal laughed-- well, it was a little tense but it was still a laugh --when Keegan apologized for the joke. “You’re fine. I mean, this is the most interesting room in the house right? Or, you can make it interesting.” Crystal bit down slightly too hard on her tongue when she realized what she had said, wincing subtly. “You know...with, uh, decorations. And conversation...pieces.” Wow, she needed to shot like a wounded animal in the wild that this was so painful.
Crystal nodded a little too quickly when he asked for something to drink before realizing he couldn’t even see her. “Yeah, sure, go ahead.” She said, before following him out of the hallway, and going back over to the box with all the photos in it. She pulled out a few as she let her fingers dance over each of them. She came across several that she loved off the bat. One of some farmhouse, a sunset on a beach, and some really interesting ones of people. There was one that was two people walking through these dense woods that really caught her attention. She wasn’t sure what it was specifically about it that grabbed her, but she loved it. Maybe it was the serenity of it all against all the mess of the woods, but she couldn’t bring herself to put it down. “I might try this one,” She spoke, holding it up so he could see it. “Would compelled you to take this?” She asked, going back to studying the photo.”
