Prepare the table!!!

Bag Talk “Prepare the Table” ​When I was younger my mom use to tell me “Rob come prepare the table for dinner.” I would have to grab enough utensils for everyone along with plates, cups etc. Anything that was needed to eat or accommodate our food had to be on the table before dinner was served. As for me, I just always thought “why she can’t just give us our own plate and we get the stuff as we need it.” Sometimes a young mine doesn’t always get the lessons that lead to the bigger picture. I believe my mom was trying to teach that you must prepare for things you want in life before you embark on them. We all want something but are we ready when we get it? What did we do to prepare for the moments we’re wanting or things we’re looking to acquire? Certain steps of success requires preparation in order to maintain them. My mom could have just put my food in front of me and called it a day but how would I enjoy my food? I would need something to eat with right? I would need condiments depending on dish right? How could I possible be ready to eat if I’m still searching and scrambling for stuff I need after I have my food. Same thing with life, how can we possibly be ready for opportunity if we don’t have what we need. If we’re not PREPARED. So have you prepared your table? If the moment you been wanting happened at this very instance are you ready for it. Have you conditioned yourself to maintain whatever it is? My college basketball coach wants us to push the ball in transition and press the ball full court on defense. That’s “THE MEAL”, 5am conditioning and weights is him setting the table. Preparing us for that moment. We are prepared to sustain the stamina required to do what he needs from us during the whole game in order to win. It is impossible to succeed if you don’t prepare for what is coming. Too many times we are just so thirsty for our moment we forget to prepare, we forget the things we need which leaves us with an opportunity we can’t do anything or fully take advantage of. You know what you want, prepare for it. Don’t put yourself in a scramble after you get it. PREPARE THE TABLE, then EAT. #BagTalk #Lootswaay

Let them sleep!!

It’s ok to be slept on, to be the underdog. Never allow yourself to be consumed in who believes in you or who does not.

If you ask me there is an advantage to being slept on or overlooked. Think about it. While everyone is sleep, you up grinding.

Even though no one is checking for you with the same token no one is messing with you. That is time to perfect your craft. Use the opportunity as motivation. I strongly believe that if I had people rooting for me to WIN my whole life, I wouldn’t be as driven or as ambitious as I am today.

I’d be lying if I said part of the reason I thrive to succeed is to prove the ones who slept on me wrong or to WAKE THEM UP!

Success is the best revenge. What I am trying to tell you today is, let them sleep but you GRIND. Usually you’re the underdog for a reason. No matter what the reason is it has put you in a position where you have to do a little more to get where you should be.

Now understand, the goal is to achieve, maintain and OVERcome! Just because someone arrives to a destination first doesn’t mean they will stay there. Your ability to maintain, stay consistent and focused is what keeps you where you want to be.

Legacy!!!!

Legacy! Legacy! ​ Life is such a precious thing you know? There is no way to know when it’s your last day. I have a few questions. If you left the world today what will be said about you? Was you the person everyone loved? Hated? Did people look up to you? What about your family and friends? Was you the best person to them? Legacy, lets define it real quick. By definition legacy is for something handed down from one generation to the next. So my next question is what are handing down? To many times we are selfish with our own lives. I was guilty myself until Reignor was born then I felt like I finally understood life, what it means and the meaning of LEGACY. When your actions directly affect the life of someone else that is when you start thinking about life more carefully. That’s how we all should weather you have kids or not. Somewhere in your life there is someone who looks up to you, someone who is depending on you. What is your actions, your LEGACY showing them? My purpose in writing this is to inspire you to be more aware that your life has more meaning than you can possibly imagine. Who doesn’t want to create a better life for their parents, leave the something for their kids and spouse. Weather my children want run Lootswaay or not I know they will have the option and will never no one clock but their own. My current actions will give me the power to give them that option when I am gone. Create something that will live on for generation to generation. Don’t be typical and live for self, leave loved ones with your debt and a costly funeral. Leave a mark, clear a path for future generations to come. We won’t live forever but Legacies can but it’s up to you to create one. Here’s another idea my coach told me about and is definitely beneficial. LIFE INSURANCE!!! Think about it.
