not to be the friend thats too woke but kryptonians having white skin literally makes no sense because you need melanin to absorb sun better….. and… since they come from a red sun planet it means that their bodies would need the melanin even more so they could absorb every last drop of it… and even if melanin doesn’t exist in kryptonian bodies it’s just how colors and light works, light rules are universal, dark color -> absorb, light color -> reflect

now listen im still very much a baby comic reader (dont call me a larper please i just have the attention span of a peanut) but the fact kon’s backstory is just so rooted in being exploited

he’s a few months fresh out the tube, biologically 15ish, and not only is he immensely sexualized for his body right away and taken advantage by older women, he’s also right away being exploited for financial gain. They’re offering this boy fame, riches, and women, telling him this is what he’s supposed to want, all while two minutes ago he literally thought he was SUPERMAN

like even in Young Jusice (TV show) he’s been conscious for little time and he’s being thrust in this romantic relationship with someone much more experienced than him, not only that but she keeps fucking snooping into his mind, a thing which he EXPLICITLY has trauma with from CADMUS

his character is so interconnected with being taken advantage of when you’re young and naive and of course finding yourself after that

furthermore, when i think of timkon to me, i like to see tim as a person who doesn’t have these expectations for kon and just genuinely wants to hold kon’s hand as he goes through this life and just help him

like kon needed these healthy male friendships first and foremost to develop i think

and yeah this is also why i like timkon happening only when they’re older
