GOOD TO SEE EVERYONE BEING DEFINITELY NOT AT ALL ANTISEMITIC IN THE NOTES HERE
@sundermunder
Okay so
1. there is no such thing as a "Judeo-Christian" God, "Judeo-Christian" values, or "Judeo-Christian" anything else. Christianity was dramatically different from Judaism from the very beginning, and Christians have spent the last two millennia distancing themselves (usually violently) from Judaism even farther. It is insulting (to say the least) to use a term that implyies a culture that has been one of the biggest historical targets of christian violence for ages is somehow actually basically the same.
The most relevant difference (to this discussion) between the two religions is that "questioning the moral authority of God" is explicitly encouraged (and arguably required) in Judaism, as one person in the notes pointed out:
See this twitter account for more info on this point.
2. there are a ton of people in the tags criticizing religion in general for beliefs/behaviors that are most common in (or even exclusive to) Christianity. This is not necessarily antisemitic specifically, but projecting the evils of a hegemonic religion onto all religions in general is,,, a more complex problem than I feel like getting into right now but hopefully you can see how it's at minimum kind of a dick move?
3. the specific problem I was referring to was the many people expressing a casual version of superseccionism, the idea that Christianity supercedes (and improves upon) Judaism. This idea that Judaism is obsolete and in some manner not as good as Christianity goes all the way back to the Apostle Paul:
In the notes of this post the most common way I saw of people doing this was by saying something along the lines of "yeah the bible is bad, especially the old testament" (ie especially the portion of the Christian Bible that was appropriated and poorly translated from the Hebrew Bible). Hopefully you can see how implying, on a post about how awful certain subsets of Christianity can sometimes be, that either Judaism is even worse or that the worst parts of Christianity are the parts it lifted from Judaism, is a shitty thing to do.
Some examples of people doing this:
Lmk if you want me to expand on any of these points ✨
It's highly questionable to call the Old Testament "appropriation" given that Christianity directly derived from Judaism (albeit while incorporating a lot of Greek elements along the way) but everything else here is spot on and I have to agree that a lot was lost in translation.. This story could only occur within a Christian (and more specifically Catholic) context so glossing this whole issue as "religion" is ignorant.
What's even more ignorant is anyone talking about Lucifer being cast out for questioning God like it's canon.
"Lucifer" in the King James Bible is a mocking title given to a man (not an angel) who tries to rise up to the level of God and is brought down to earth where he dies like anyone else. The name actually refers to the planet Venus and is given because its trajectory in the sky resembles a fall.
The idea of Lucifer as a fallen angel comes from Milton's Paradise Lost. It is not considered canon to any Christian denomination except the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who obviously post-date Milton.
Kind of beside the point but I am OP and this is something that bugs me.
i gotta write a trope break where the dad’s favorite daughter gets a bf and instead of being suspicious the dad is like ‘YES. FINALLY. I HAVE A SON TO GO FISHING WITH’ ‘dad i go fishing with you every week’ ‘i know and i’ll always enjoy fishing with you more but I WANNA MAKE HIM FEEL WELCOME. COME ON SON LET US FISH’
instead of cringing the daughter’s like ‘i’m sorry if you feel weirded out by my dad but i love him the way he is and u just gotta man up and deal with my awesome cringy dad’
boyfriend, who doesn’t have a good dad: i know this and i love him
bf: are you going to tell me to not break your daughter’s heart or you’ll break my legs or something?
dad: no i know you wouldn’t do it on purpose and it’s stupid to get mad at someone for an accident. also, i trust my daughter’s taste in men and understand that heartbreak is a natural part of relationships. you will both hurt each other, but what’s important is being mature, forgiving, and loving through it. now, do you want a hamburger or a hotdog?
bf, crying a little: both, please mr. dad
instead of groaning at the dad jokes everyone is DELIGHTED and the dad stands as the pinnacle of humor, as dad jokes deserve to.
CUTIES 🥰 (for @v-hope)

cooking together with wine, music and only half dressed
Jewish and Muslim people go on Chopped and are made to cook with pork and they make it work, one vegan goes on and refuses to use any meat products he’s given and they have an all veggie episode for him.
The final basket had honey in it and e refers to it as a total nightmare scenario. Go talk to the Muslim woman who knocked out a pork loin without being able to taste her dish about dealing with nightmare baskets
My mum was watching a baking show where a 20 year old Muslim woman was a contestant. They had to make an alcoholic dessert. She nailed it despite not being able to taste it. When she mentioned that she couldnt (not as a complaint or excuse) everyone gawked at her and someone said “how old are you???”. Like, really?
I saw that one! Seemed like purposeful sabotage when your contestant can neither religiously or legally taste the ingredient
Cultural insensitivity and racism in media?
Unheard of!
