Hillsborough: It is the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy, where 96 fans lost their lives and almost 800 others were wounded at a football match in Liverpool - or, in the foreign tongue of the North American, soccer. The cause was largely police mishandling of the large crowd, but the blame was pinned on the fans due to institutional coverups and a national media smear campaign. The truth only came to light after a long and hard-fought quest for justice.

It is not dance-related, but it resonates with us - and not just because we like the football (22 fit men running up and down a field, what’s not to like?) - but because of the terribleness of lives being taken in the innocuous act of supporting that which they loved. And it resonates with us because we come from a place of an unsacred Constitution where basic pillars of democracy, like objectivity of the press, freedom of information & the separation of powers are cautious - and sometimes costly - luxuries.
