Back in 2015 @taylorswift sent me a huuuuge valentines package š¦, I mean... it barely fit through my door š©. Anyway, in that package full of wonderful things was this candle that I fell so deeply in love with... but I refused to light it, until now.
Not to sound weird or soppy, but I wanted the candle to symbolise an important milestone in my life, or in a period in my life where things werenāt incredibly shitty or depressing. I wanted the candle to be a symbol of hope.
Last March (on St Patrickās Day) my Mum was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukaemia, and she was in a very bad way, for a full 8 months she permanently moved into hospital and caught and fought numerous life threatening infections along with the cancer. It was bad, real bad. But sheās a trooper and did not complain once! After all, she was a single mother to 5 bratty kids, this sure aināt gonna take her down!!
After months of waiting we got good news, my Mum is winning her battle, itās been the first sign of good news in months! I was accepted into Irelandās leading University to study Film and Production! My life long passion has been film, so getting this opportunity to study it has me so buzzed!
Today I lit the candle. Because itās been the first time in year where Iāve felt like things were taking a change, but this time for the better. I started looking after myself better and caring more about my mental health, which has deteriorated over the past year or so. I started caring about ME!
So my message here is probably confusing but In a way I need to thank you Taylor especially for this symbol of hope! Youāve taught me so many life lessons that I will carry through in my life.
Taylor, this era has me even more proud to be a fan than even before! I canāt wait to see you on tour, if you ever decide to come back to Ireland š®šŖ! Btw, the candle smells amazing! Even though it is 4 years old :)
