I know this isn't exactly related.. but if you've read the 6th dcc book, The Bedlam Bride, please watch this video. While I know that it's just a book series and when it's taking place isn't necessarily important, the way Cuba is portrayed is highly inaccurate to their current situation.

Cuba is currently facing significant struggles due to the blockade/embargo being enforced upon them by the USA. please, please push your elected officials to take action against this blockade, especially if you are American. It is fucking terrible how the Cuban people are being punished, struggling to survive, and dying, largely because of their history as a communist state that the US is scared of. they have very limited fuel, are struggling with rolling blackouts and minimal supplies to support their entire country.

please, please reach out to your elected officials and tell them to end the blockade on Cuba now.

My possibly unpopular mostly unserious DCC take is that the whole crew should've baby-trapped Mordecai at the end of book 7.

Like there's background knowledge in all the books that despite having his freedom after so long, Mordecai has uhhhh basically no plans for what he's gonna do after he gets out of the dungeon and honestly I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't expect to survive long.

He was literally a human on the ninth floor I think Katia totally could've picked him as the father. They know he values his family AND he's good with kids. And then everyone would gather around him like 'aw, guess you have to stick with us as your new family and support network once you get out of here.' This absolutely would've worked and is exactly the kind of sort-of-mean-but-motivated-by-kindness plan that Carl and co. would come up with.

I’m reading Pandora by Anne Rice when I’m not listening to This Inevitable Ruin. Pandora recounts of when she was alive, she had literally blood-thirsty dreams; she said in the dreams she was a Lamia.

I looked up “lamia” for a quick overview on Wikipedia, and was surprised to find this paragraph:

I didn’t know “Psamathe” was a real name (and I’m still a little annoyed at Carl just going with “Samantha” because her “real name is a little too weird for me.” That’s so rude!) and a figure in mythology.

Just funny how the two very-different books I’m reading had that obscure link.
