A gentle reminder

It’s that time of the year again. Holidays, celebrations, etc. But for some, that isn’t the case and that’s alright. For whatever reason maybe you don’t feel the holiday spirit or have anyone to spend it with. Maybe you don’t want to. I don’t know your story and you don’t have to share.

Many times people forget this, not everyone has those who love and care for them to gather with or maybe they’re unable to? I know for me, my case is those I cherish most are separate by distances or veils I am not meant to cross just yet.

Just remember be gentle with yourself. Be considerate of others who maybe have no one. Maybe they’re fighting silent battles that they won’t/aren’t ready to share with you. Don’t get upset with them or yourself if you aren’t fully of joy or glee.

You don’t have to be.

This goes for those who aren’t feeling jolly either, it isn’t someone’s fault. They can be happy, you can be sad or upset. We’re all people in this world.All just going day by day.

I suppose what I’m trying to get to is just be gentle with yourself and others. I know I have days where I am sick of Christmas music or people just smiling but I pause and tell myself they’re allowed that.

If you need to watch that holiday special or listen to holiday music go ahead. If you need to just spend a bit alone that’s alright too. I know this year I won’t be putting any decorations up or celebrating but for those who are. I am happy for you.

I suppose what I’m trying to get to is don’t be bitter towards one another. Gods know there is enough foulness in this world as it is. Why add to it? And if you need someone to sit with you even in silence my dms are open or even to vent. (I also have tons of cat pictures if you need some serotonin.)

And most importantly:

Her right ear has a nearly-invisible scar from one of her earliest (failed) experiments trying to control demons. This causes her unbearable shame, and she covers it with extravagantly expensive jewelry.

Spoiled Rotten: Aunlin was born wealthy and will not hesitate to remind everyone around her. She is self-centered and vain, and would easily take to social media if such a thing existed on Azeroth. For now, she is content to use her S.E.L.F.I.E. camera to document her personal journeys and people she deems worthy of appearing in photos with her.

Demonic Influencer: Her first experience with demons was when they invaded Suramar just a few short years ago. Rather than be afraid of them, she was fascinated by their energy. Both magical and in the raw, less concrete way. She has devoted her life to studying methods of controlling demons and forcing them into her servitude.

Deep Shame: Aunlin’s spoiled princess personality is partially an act. Although she comes from extreme wealth, it was nothing compared to some of her peers who had relatives within Magistrix Elisande’s personal circle. The fact her family’s money comes from arcwine production and distribution caused her wealthy childhood classmates to mock her, as if she were one of the lowly commoners who stomped on the berries or toiled in the aging vats. She overcompensates for the shame she feels of not being good enough by acting even more pompous and callous than she needs to be. The tiny scar on her ear that she goes to great lengths to hide is another facet of this deep insecurity.

Daniel Davis Aston, 28

Daniel was a bartender at Club Q. An outspoken trans man, he continuously helped raise donations for Black trans people on his Instagram. He was “the light in every room” according to his close friend.

Raymond Green

Raymond was celebrating his friend’s birthday when the shots broke out. His friend Rich apprehended the shooter as he died. After his death, his girlfriend posted on Facebook, “u are my home. my heart. my everything. u changed my life. u made life worth living.”

Kelly Loving, 40

After moving from Florida, Kelly was new to the Colorado scene. A nurturing soul, she was “like a trans mother” to her friends. “She was loving, always trying to help the next person out instead of thinking of herself. She just was a caring person,” her sister told the New York Times.

Ashley Paugh, 35

Ashley and her friends decided to go to Club Q after spending time shopping and getting dinner together. She was a family woman and “lived for her daughter” according to her sister. She is survived by her husband and 11-year-old child.

Derrick Rump, 38

Always bubbly and joking, Derrick had no shortage of friends in the community. He was a part owner of Club Q. “He was a kind loving person who had a heart of gold,” his mother told reporters. “He was always there for my daughter and myself when we needed him also his friends from Colorado which he would say was his family also. He was living his dream and he would have wanted everyone to do the same.”
