I should post more about how Iona is a huge sadist in bed. She doesn't just enjoy blood play so she can lick it off her partner. She genuinely enjoys inflicting pain. Mostly from piercing skin with her fangs, but also with blades or whips, or whatever her partner agrees to use.

I feel like one of the funniest things that Games Workshop could do is tease the Emperor coming back to life, and then release WH80k, where it fully covers that Big E came back to his full power, did stuff for a while, but then got tragically husked again before we get to playing again.

I've been meaning to do 40k lore posts about significant fandom creations/memes for a while. Since there have been 40k internet memes for as long as the internet has existed.

One of the older memes, WAAAAAY before Games Workshop started moving the story forward, maybe even before the first Horus Heresy novel, was a proposed WH50k setting.

In this fan creation, that spanned multiple years, multiple additions and posts made of several forums and chat groups, the Emperor briefly woke up. He was still a rotting husk on the golden throne (this was before we learned the throne is failing), but he summoned the strength to order the Imperium to build THE SHIP. A single vessel 1 AU in length. Holy Terra itself is cannibalized and hollowed out in its construction.

And then he went dormant again. Even diminishing his presence in the warp, and breaking down most forms of navigation for the Imperium.

10,000 years later, all that is left of humanity is brought aboard this ark of civilization. Here humankind lives and dies in the bowels of its massive holds, whole world's worth of people living in single compartments. The combined psychic presence of humanity lies under the aegis of the God-Emperor's power, thwarting Chaos. Only the God-Emperor, now the God-Captain, knows where The Ship is going.

The Imperium is gone. The galaxy is on fire.

The Ship is the Imperium. The Imperium is the Ship. The Ship is the Emperor. The Emperor is the Ship. All is the Ship. The Ship is All. The Ship Moves.
