“Enchain.”

Yuuji falls, plummeting into the depths of his own soul—into the blood-and-bone monstrosity that Sukuna calls his innate domain.

“Oh, hello,” greets a voice that’s definitely not Sukuna’s. “This wasn’t supposed to happen.”

The speaker is tall and broad-shouldered, wearing a bulky jacket with the hood pulled low over his face. All Yuuji can see under it is a shadowed space and a sliver of skin. His hands are in his pockets, and he’s slouching in a way that means he’d be a little taller once he straightens up.

It’s impossible, Yuuji knows that, but— “Gojou-sensei?”

“Oh,” the stranger says softly. “No. Not him.”

His hand slides out of his pocket, shoving the hood back to reveal…Yuuji’s own face.

“Why,” Yuuji hears himself ask, “is my life a manga?”

“Man, tell me about it,” his other self says, the scarred corner of his mouth quirking up into a wry grin.

“You impudent worm,” snarls Sukuna, “what have you done?”

Post-Modulo Yuuji accidentally travels back in time and lands in his younger self’s soul just as Sukuna is about to switch bodies. Plot derailment and horny derangement ensue.

The constant tension between the different sides of The Character's nature is exactly what makes them compelling, and attempting to reduce them down to simply "a terrible person" or "innocent & misunderstood" is missing the point of the questions a media with nuanced characters is asking you to consider

But that’s ridiculous. Isn’t this guy like a hundred and fifty years old? That’s what he says, at least.

Then again, he was a shrunken fetus for a lot of that time. But was he always like that? He and the other two were stolen during the Goodwill Event—that was just a couple of months ago. Chōsō must have had this body for about as long.

It’s not a lot of time, come to think of it.
