unfortunately i suppose you do have a point anon. i am veryyyy used to twitter and how they tag things there is different from here. but

its stupid and weird to tell me that i don't get a say in what happens with the stuff i made because i put it online

why are we not allowed to tag whatever we want?? kinda defeats the point of reblogging

it defeats the point of tagging in the first place if you tag whatever you want. the point of tagging is to create a filtering system.

if i post something about yuuji and then someone reblogs that its megumi. people who search up the tag yuuji are going to find stuff that isnt about yuuji.

this also applies to blocking tags. for those who hate specific ships/charecters for instance can blog that tag and then they dont have to see it. but that obviously doesnt work if people tag it incorrectly.

this is one of the basic rules of fandom spaces. many creators (both fan artists and authors) end up leaving fandoms because people dont know how to tag their creations and harass them because they dont know what a blog button looks like.

i have ships i dislike and if someone tags my!! work!! with stuff i haven't tagged it's very frustrating.

especially for separating proships. i dont care who interacts with me or reblogs my art as long as they tag it properly. that way i dont have to see anything i dont want too + they can enjoy my art.
