Create your own creamy and delicious cream cheese at home with just a few simple ingredients. This homemade version is perfect for spreading on bagels, using in recipes, or enjoying on its own.
Ingredients: 4 cups whole milk. 2 tablespoons white vinegar. 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Instructions: Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches 180F 82C. Remove the saucepan from heat and add white vinegar. Stir gently for a few seconds. Let the mixture sit undisturbed for 5-10 minutes until curds form. Line a colander with cheesecloth and place it over a bowl. Pour the curdled mixture into the colander. Gather the corners of the cheesecloth and tie them together. Hang the bundle to drain whey for about 2 hours. Transfer the drained curds to a bowl, add salt, and mix until smooth. Refrigerate the homemade cream cheese for at least 4 hours before using.
