âYour plan is going to get us killed.â
It was a Friday night and he had been sitting alone in his apartment when he heard the sirens fly past his window. Brooklyn just like the rest of New York never slept. That was why he was now standing in a burning apartment building. The flames licked at the walls and engulfed everything in their path. He heard a cry for help and followed the voice. âStay low to the ground, Iâll get you out of here.â This was what he did when he wasnât on a mission, he saved people from burning buildings and stopped robbers. All in a days work.Â
âThanks.â She grinned when she walked back into his apartment and headed for the kitchen. âIâm never apposed to that. The dough is the best part and you should always eat some of that.â Cass agreed as she put everything down on the counter. When he offered to make her dinner she looked over her shoulder at him and smiled. âIâd like that. Iâm an awful cook so Iâm not going to offer that up. I had a lot of diner food when I was younger, my dad always took night shifts at the station so he was there to get us though the day and there was one on the corner.â The blonde smiled at the memory, it was one of those things that she loved thinking about, from back when everything worked.
âYouâre welcomed any time, Cass.â He moved to one of the lower drawers of the kitchen and removed two spoons and offered one to her. Removing the lid of the cookie dough container, he dug his spoon in and took a bite of the dough. âStation?â Steve questioned after he had finished swallowing the cookie dough.Â
Wanda could see him sweating, becoming increasingly anxious by the scene despite how little he would let himself show it. She swallowed and immediately pulled him back to the present, the reality of things and reached foward, holding his face, so she could study his eyes.
âAre you alright?â She furrowed her brow at him, her worry building that he was going to lash out at her for what sheâd shown him.Â
He looked into her red eyes as they changed back to her normal colored ones, and let out a sigh. Steve shut his eyes for a moment trying to get the images out of his head. He had clashed with Tony before, but to be standing over his wounded body about to deliver a final blow, that was something different.Â
âIâll be fine.â His eyes opened and stared into hers, searching for some sort of answer. âWhen you did that before I saw the past, was that my future?â
Steve threw a punch forward, his fist connecting with the punching bag as it was sent forward breaking away from the metal chain. He heard the gym door open and close and glanced over his shoulder at the figure by the door. âCan I help you?â
âAlright.â She stated flatly, stepping towards him until she was only inches away. She studied his external features a moment before pressing closer into his mind one thought at a time. Slowly she raise her hand, allowing it to bruse the hair on the side of his head slightly before a small string of red energy flowed from her hand and into his mind. âDo not forget what you have requested.â
âI won't.â He canât feel as she slips into his mind, invading it once more. This time he asked her to. With a blink Wanda was gone and instead an injured Tony Stark in his Iron Man suit laid on the concrete ground. His own fist was raised and covered in blood, Tonyâs blood. His chest heaved as a group of police officers approached him, ordering to put his hands up. He complied and dropped to his knees, the other memberâs of the Secret Avengers halting their respective battles to watch the scene unfold.Â
Tony was gone and replaced by Wanda. He ran a hand over his eyes and looked up to her. âWhat the hell was that?â
[ Hi, I run chaoticxtwin! I wanted to say thanks for the follow and that I'd love to roleplay/plot some stuff out with you! ]
(Hello there! I would love to!)
âYes sir, but er, hand-to-hand or are you wanting to see my gift?â Skye asked unsure of herself.
âYour gift, that is if you donât mind. Iâve read your file, Iâd like to see what you can do in person and help train you in whatever way I can.â He folded his arms across his chest as he waited for her to display her abilities.
âA little scratched up but Iâm fine. Is it over yet?â
âNot yet!â He ran towards her and used his shield to protect her from a barrage of bullets.Â
âThatâs not much of a headâs up teach.â She replied as she held her hand out, fingers peeled back as bolt of blue lightning shoots out of her hand.âBut I always do well on pop quizes.â
âThe world doesn't give heads up. You never know when it will be in danger.â A blonde brow raised as blue lightning appeared from her hand. âImpressive, what else can you do?â
Mai sighed, before throwing her hand forward and blasting the Captain across the room. âThat okay?â She asked, walking over to him and crouching down by his side.
âWasnât expecting that.â He let out a quite groan and turned to look at Mai. âThat was uh, that was good.âÂ
âAre you certain that is the wisest decision after my last trip inside your mind?â
âAffirmative.â He had questions that he wanted to ask her about the last time she invaded his mind. She could project images of what he had feared. Did he fear peace? Happiness? He didnât understand. âAlright. Go ahead, Wanda.â
âTraining starts now. Show me what you can do.â He instructed to the new Avenger in front of him.Â
âYeah but everyone always says things are better from scratch, but Iâd rather not kill you.â Not when he was being so nice to her. She put her mug down before standing up. âExactly. Neither of us want to be the reason we donât have apartments in the morning.â That would be the worst thing in the world that was for sure. She grinned when he turned the oven on before heading for the door. âIâll be right back Iâm just gonna grab them, and a cookie sheet.â It would such if she came back down to his place and there wasnât anything to cook them on. A few minutes later she was back down and lightly knocking on the door. Even though he knew she was coming back she didnât want to just walk in.
Steve waited patiently in front of the television for Cass to come back. He was slightly surprised to hear her knocking on the door. Funny how mannerisms were a thing to be surprised. He stood and headed to the door. âWelcome back.â He stepped aside and closed the door beside her. âYou know, I wouldnât be apposed to eating the raw dough. But freshly baked cookies do sound good.â He lead her into the kitchen, the warmth of the oven spread through the confined space. âIâm a fairly decent cook when I have ingredients. Maybe you could come over again sometime and Iâll make you dinner.âÂ
âDrinking Beer?â She asked him. âI thought you didnât get buzzed.â She chuckled as she looked at him, turning a little more to face him. âStill Natasha.â She told him. âNo point in creating a new me, they all know me now.â
She  tucked a strand of her red vibrant hair behind her ear and smiled âSure, seeing as youâre buying.â She chuckled.
âI might not be able to get drunk, but there are other reasons to drink. For example, I like the taste of beer.â He was glad to know that she was still Natasha, though he was sure that was an alias too. At least he felt like he knew that version of her.Â
He took a sip of his beer and stared at the amber colored glass before turning his attention to the bartender in front of him. âWould you mind getting my friend here a drink? Put it on my tab, please.â The bartender smiled and nodded, waiting for Natashaâs order. âI come here once a week, so far Iâve tried nearly every kind of beer they offer.âÂ
