I love boys kissing
âif you love this character then you must make him happy in your fics, right?â wrong. the horror. suffering. internal hemorrhage. hospital. immediately
consuming media like
this is my favourite post ever
@arafinweanweek day seven | later generations | elladan and elrohir
âAnd have you marked the brethren Elladan and Elrohir? Less sombre is their gear than the othersâ, and they are fair and gallant as Elven-lords; and that is not to be wondered at in the sons of Elrond of Rivendell.â
âThe Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, âThe Passing of the Grey Companyâ

Happy pride.
This is actually super cool from a media preservation stand point!!
speculating other people's art â be it digital art or fanfiction or any other forms of art â if it's ai or not harms real, genuine writers as much as ai does
it sucks, but you can never be 100% sure if something is ai, especially in written works. any sign of "ai-generated fic" is something genuine writers do (guess what ai is trained on and what it's trained to mimic). more often than not, innocent human-made fics that were accused of being ai were written by people who are on the autism spectrum or writers whose native language is not english but they write in english regardless (kudos to them!). actually, even proper grammar is now being considered "a sign of ai", when it's... not. people can use proper grammar in their works, that means they are good at grammar, it doesn't mean they used ai to write for them.
if you start normalizing "speculating and accusing people of using ai", then real, genuine writers and artists will eventually stop creating/sharing their works with you, for fear of being wrongly accused, and all that will be left in fandom space will just be ai-generated fics.
you can tell how much a fanfic writer loves their favorite fictional character by how much they torture them in their fanfics
too much monogamy in fandom in general
as we all know, everyone falls in love once and only once with their one true love the first time, and if they had relationships before that they werenât real and didnât love each other, and you canât love more than one person at once, and your friends and family need to be pushed out of the picture to focus more on your romance, and no one has sex with people they donât love, and if they did, theyâre dirty and they have to have hated it and the sex they have with their one true love after theyâre officially together has to be better sex than they ever had before, and no one ever breaks up for any reason other than death, and everyone wants to get married and have kids. arenât you fucking tired.
I SAID ARENâT YOU FUCKING TIRED
me: this is a background character who's in one scene, has two lines, and is completely irrelevant to the rest of the story. i am going to stop obsessing over what to name him and use the random name generator on behindthename.com. i am going to accept the first thing it gives me and move the fuck on.
behindthename.com:
"What are you in for?"
"Wanting to be able to complete more than one task a day"
If you haven't heard, the em dash has been getting a lot of attention latelyâŠ
Because it was trained on pirated workâincluding freely accessible online writing (like fanfic, academic texts)âChatGPT picked up patterns and quirks native to human writing.
Including (sigh) the em dash.
There are other victims here (RIP tapestry and delve đ« ), but the appropriation of the em dashâa punctuation mark beloved by writers everywhereâfeels especially personal.
A kind of low-grade panic is ensuing. Writers who once memed their own em dash overuseâthe greatest punctuation mark ever to grace the control-freakâs lexicon, franklyâare suddenly backing away to avoid accusations.
No. More. We have centuries of dash-abusing writers behind us. We will not sit quietly while AI repurposes our beloved stilted asideâor the just-one-more clarification the sentence demandsâor the dramatic pause your comma could neverâetc.
You donât write like AIâAI writes like you.
Defend the em dash.
(Feel free to download/share/stick it where it matters!)

Heated Rivalry
I've never seen the show or read the books. I'd never even heard of it until a week ago, but now 90% of my Tumblr feed is the gay hockey boys fucking each other, and can I just say I'm pretty much living for it.
Suck that dick, sports queen! This is the quality television we all deserve.
Very hard to scroll tumblr on the bus in the current fandom climate (the hockey players are sucking each others dicks every other post)
Nature is healing.
how fanfic writers put their favorite fictional characters, whom they love very dearly, through hell
I HAVE TO WRITE THE FANFICTION I WANT TO READ????
