to the pinkest of netrunners, the coolest of gals, and a true legend in Night City.
Today marks the birthday of Valheri, an original character created by @aurorartz within the game of Cyberpunk 2077. She is vastly different and more complex than she appears to be, loaded with intriguing lore and details. @aurorartz has been crafting her since the game's inception, carefully tailoring each lore point and thread into place. Everything done with purpose!
The concept behind the images was inspired by the duality of the pink netrunner; she mixes the hyper-femininity of coquette and doll aesthetics, with the divine and mastery level netrunner abilities she wields at the flick of her wrist. Butterflies and glitched spaces manifest in her wake as the NETWITCH, leaving nothing but power in her absence. When off duty, she resembles that of a flower: gentle and methodical in her speech and mannerisms. Valheri is one of a kind, created and perfected to be one of the best characters I have ever come across. Please help me in celebrating, and wishing her a sweet day full of smiles, pink plushies, delicious treats and love! making ocs is so funny, especially when you get so attached to some and not to others?? itβs like yes these people live in my head and I love them. I love that one the most though.
i got home pretty late, but managed to snag this. i saw the prompt, and thought, "where do you leave things behind? ah, the airport!" so, i went to the next best thing, the orbital space station, and found this little number. i was inspired to keep it black and white after watching roma, and seeing all the contrast and stunning values.
also, great movie, i highly recommend. each shot is so narrative-focused, and gorgeous. the story, itself, is excellent. i'm halfway done, and im still brimming with excitement. i want to try something subject focused too...i wrote down a bunch of notes, and i'm actually learning? i remember asking @fereldanwench what she did to get so darn good at her cinematic shots, and she told me to watch movies, and take inspiration from movie stills. i thought on it long and hard, and boom, this challenge was born! so, thank you to wench, hehe.
anyway, i'm kind of excited/nervous for day three. i'll have to think of what to do. ah, another big thing i learned when watching the movie: LESS IS MORE. i think i'm always ready to add a million lights, but with cinematography, they use enough to be intentional, and that's it. sometimes, 2031209302 lights aren't needed to light a scene. let the audience interpret the shadows and what's missing.
black and white vp actually brings back some memories! there's a strength to it, and i always come back to it whenever i struggle with my lighting setup. plus, i was obsessed with it for a while, so please enjoy the small gallery below of my old black and white work. and while you are at it, tell me your thoughts in the tags!
