"Go away, go away. Just leave me here... And just leave me here..."
Seether - Waste
My Apology
I know I'm a burden. Plain and simple. All those around me and all those that I try to connect to can attest to that even though they'll probably say that's not true. It is true though. I know it is. You can't hide it. So what I'm saying is, from the absolute bottom of my heart, I am truly sorry... I don't wish for anyone to feel sorry for me or to come to my rescue just because they feel obligated, so please, don't. It'd only make me feel worse. As much as I'm gonna hate this, and as painful as it may be, this ongoing problem with my mental state is a battle I have to fight alone. I like to think I'm over what has happened to me in the past couple years regarding my breakup, then the situation with my roommate that had befriended me, hooked up with me when she was drunk, then later threatened to destroy my property thanks to her being on drugs, but honestly, I'm not. At least not as much as I wish to be. I was over my ex completely before all that happened, then old wounds got cut right open once again. Wounds of rejection, and emotional abuse. I was well on the way to healing, id say around 90 or so percent, until my roommate happened. Now id say I'm about 50% or maybe a bit lower. My trust in most women and their true intentions with me is shot to hell. The one, maybe 2 that im still friends with somehow... Yeah I honestly don't know how I'm doing even that. I'm broken. I really am. The only way I can get better though, is to figure it out for myself. Love and companionship will once again have to wait a while. Months, maybe even years again. All I know is I keep driving any potential mate away somehow without even realizing or knowing how I'm doing it, despite how nice I am to them. So for now, to any friends if mine who read this that I have ever burdened with my problems or ranted to about them, I am truly sorry for adding to any stress, pain, or any kind of endeavors you have in your life. For now, I'll leave you all be while I go search for my peace. Thank you all, and I wish you all the luck and happiness I have left, if any.
Puppet on the string
Control, it's what they want
We can't let them have it
Telling us lies to keep us in check
They don't care if it turns us into a wreck
We feel only they know us
Only they can save us
Narcissistic at the core
Mentally beating us to the floor
We're only a playing piece in their lives
Their hurtful words cutting our souls like knives
Just like Pinocchio, we have to break free
We can't be a puppet on the strings, don't you see?
It's manipulation, not love, not admiration
No, at best this is just intimidation
Keep us down, keep us controlled like a robot
They know that every one if us at a price we can be bought
They have our number, they string us along, it goes on and on
Until the game is over, it's not fun to them anymore, and then they're just gone
Until they come back, whenever they please
They keep us on edge, on our knees
My advice, to every last one that reads this
Listen close, listen hard
Get away from the manipulation while you can like me
Run away with your mind intact, before they play their last card

"Lonely is this what we've become?
So lonely
Fragile and unloved
Lost inside ourselves
And blindly staring at the sun
So lonely
Is this what we've become?"

What I feel when I say I'm "lonely"
So, as a human being, I have the basic need to have people understand me. Simply put though, my head is like this convoluted mess. What makes sense to me makes little to no sense to most others. I don't know if this is because I'm on a different level of intelligence, or a different level of understanding or simply because, they're not in my head. So for the sake of wanting to feel understood, I'm going to try and give a sort of window into how I feel on a daily basis when I say I'm lonely, because I know I have people around me, I know I have people attempting to help me in their own way, but I just still feel alone and distant. So here it is:
You wake up, you open your eyes. You see nothing but this pitch black darkness. You can't see anything, you can't hear anything, you can't feel anything, or taste or smell... Nothing, but the one thing you do feel is cold. You reach out into the dark emptiness, seeing if you can feel for a jacket or blanket or just any kind of something to cover up with. You reach in all directions but there's nothing. You then begin to wander around quietly, trying not to disturb anything or anyone, if indeed either exist here. You wander for a good while, until you see what looks like the shape of a person, send hear the echo of a voice saying "this way, follow me". You then, reluctantly, follow this voice and human like figure. You suddenly begin to feel a sense of warmth the closer you get. Then, suddenly, as you get to where you can almost see their face, you realize, they're fading. Slowly fading into the darkness, and you suddenly start feeling cold again. So you continue to wander more until you have this happen a few more times, each time ending the same as the last. Momentary warmth and comfort and being led on the "correct path" but then everything suddenly falling apart. You begin to grow angry, upset, scared. None of these figures are staying for long enough for you to find your way out of this dark, frigid place. You begin to yell out for help. You hear more echoes asking "what's wrong?". You try to tell them, but the echos soon stop. You realize those are gone now too. No voices, no figments to lead you. Wandering in every direction has gotten you nowhere, trusting these figures leading you to "the path" got you nowhere, and listening to the echoes of the voices leading you and seemingly trying to care has gotten you nowhere. It's at this point, that very moment, you realize the truth. It's not actually dark because there's no light to guide your path, it's dark because there's too many people in the way and they're blocking the light to the right path. It's not that you can't hear anything, it's that you're hearing everything and it's clouding your judgment. It's not that you can't feel anything, it's that you're feeling everything and it's caused you to go numb. You're being so overwhelmed by everyone else trying to lead you in their own direction, that you can't focus on your own path right there at your feet in front of you. You keep feeling like things are going cold and those people are leaving, only because they can't see your path, they can only see their own, therefore, they can't lead you. You can't lead someone down your own path because everyone's path is different. There may be similarities, but no one path is the same. Nobody can truly lead you, but you.
This is what I feel when I say I'm lonely. I'm lonely because I'm letting others lead me without listening to myself. They tell me "do it like this" or sometimes try to force me saying "do it like this or I won't help you" but of course I mentally reject it if I feel it isn't me. We all know the saying "don't knock it until you try it" but sometimes, you just know it won't work. So this loneliness I feel, is the fact nobody wants to help me stay on my path, it's because most want me to go down theirs instead. What they don't understand is that you can't force someone down your own path, you simply have to wait until those two paths join on their own. I'm guessing that's how finding love is too. You can't force one or the other down each other's path, you have to allow both to meet on their own at the exact moment they're meant to. Not really unlike fate, except here, you can control where your own path goes, but it can't be exactly like someone else's otherwise you'll just be wandering in that dark room of nothing again. So that's what I'm always trying to do, find my way back to my path while avoiding taking someone else's out of feeling lost, and finding myself in that cold dark nothingness. It's just that there's so many trying to force me to follow them, that I keep getting led astray.

"I'll show you mine, if you show me yours first. Let's compare scars, I'll tell you who's is worse. Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words. We live on front porches and swing life away. We get by just fine here on minimum wage. If love is a labor I'll slave to the end. I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand"
Swing Life Away - Rise Against
Just as a sort of public service announcement to those who have younger siblings or who are parents who have sons or daughters who are now adults. If they make mistakes, if they come to you for advice, or just need a little help, don't scold them or treat them like a 5 year old that just scribbled on the wall. They're your child/younger sibling, yeah, but don't fucking yell at them. Unless it's something that was really bad like illegal or whatever, they don't need to be treated like they're a child still. All that does is it creates animosity towards each other, it makes your sibling/children feel like shit, and it makes them feel like they can't come to you for advice or help of any kind in the future. Your children and younger siblings look up to you and see you as a role model, this is why you have to show them that they can trust you. If they feel they can't come to you for fear of scrutiny or being treated like shit for simply not knowing something, you'll start to see and hear from them a lot less. So don't make it a habit to chase them away by treating them like some dumb kid, treat them like an equal coming to you for help or advice. I already can't count on a lot of my family anymore because I feel like all they'll ever do is get angry, and I've never really come to them for anything outside of what a normal person would mess up on, but this is sort of my warning to others out there: Treat your kids and younger siblings with the same kindness you'd want back, or you just might lose them.
