An announcement
I’ve decided to retire completely from making HP content, both gif rp’s and fic, due to the recent events surrounding JK Rowling.
I know both her transphobia and her racism have been well-known about for a long time, but only recently have I truly seen what damage this sort of rhetoric is capable of doing to people of color and my trans siblings and sadly, I have been personally confronted with transphobia multiple times the past few weeks. I say this not to invoke pity, because I do not need it, but to remind you that these events do occur.
I will no longer be avoiding my responsibility in spreading fiction rooted in bigotry by ‘seperating the art from the artist‘ and I encourage each and every one of you to do the same.
As to what will happen to this blog, I’m yet undecided. I might decide to produce some other RP in the future, and I might keep reblogging non-rp posts by the friends I’ve made during my years, but I’m not sure about any of it.
All I’m sure about is that I’m done building popularity for bigoted properties, no matter how amazing and lovely and accepting this community has always been. I’m done, and I encourage you all to re-evaluate your content and to be done as well. Take a stance, think of your trans friends, and make your words mean something.
