“𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠’𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐱 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭.” ricky’s brows were pinched together in concentration as he made little notes in his song booklet, headphones over his ears and the jack of them plugged into dev’s laptop as he listened to an early mix of one of the newest songs they’ve been working on. he leaned forward to hit the space bar to pause the rough cut track in the same instant that dev was reaching for something on the back of the tour bus couch they were sat on, the timing making it so his fist accidentally made contact with ricky’s jaw- not super hard, but hard enough that it made a funny ‘smack’ sound. “ow, fuck. i didn’t mean it as an insult..” he brought his hand up to hold the side of his face, looking at dev with a mix of annoyance, confusion and mild amusement. naturally, the instinctive very next move he made was to hit him back using the back of his hand. 

dev enjoyed having another brain like ricky’s to bounce ideas off of when it came to music. they could sometimes be notoriously hard to work with, but ricky was always understanding. though dev could agree there was something in the rough cut that throwing everything off: too much bass, a chord in the melody gone flat, the piano part going on for a few notes too long. letting out an frustrated exhale, he had reached for his water bottle. dev froze up as his fist made contact with the other’s face, staring at ricky like a deer in the headlights. they were completely out of it until ricky’s hand left a slight sting on their cheek, “what the fuck was that for,” dev spoke defensively, hand shooting up to his face, “you punched yourself on my fist, not the other way around.”

“woah there, i’m not the one putting a label on it.” he spoke, arms shooting up defensively “besides, i couldn’t steal you away from the venue. let’s face it, no one on that stage right now knows how to set up any of their instruments.” his voice dropped to almost a whisper, using his thumb to motion to the band. dev couldn’t help but snicker at her comment on the dream girls cast; they rememberd seeing some stray articles floating around that he managed to read. a smug smirk grew on his face as he scanned her face, “my weapon of choice is the cello, i wouldn’t expect there to be one of those laying around at a rock concert,” they explained with a small shrug, “though i could probably knock out a few chords of ‘vitality’ if i had a guitar.”

7. do they wake up groggy or alert? do they like mornings?

100% the worst person in the morning. dev does not do mornings, they're a night owl. in the morning he's usually very grouchy and needs at least three hours of lazing about and more than one cup of coffee or something stronger to be fully awake

10. what shampoo scent do they like the best and why?

dev likes subtle scents. with his hair almost always falling in his face, they don't want to have an overpowering smell. right now, his go to shampoo is the public goods signature, which has a subtle citrus and herbs smell.

31. do they have good fashion sense? or do they just wear whatever?

dev adores fashion. it's probably his second favorite thing ever, right after music. his goal in life is to be the best dressed in any room he walks into. they dress in a very androgynous way, mixing elements of typically female and typically male fashion. he also loves any and everything brightly colored and boldly patterned. dev just wants everyone when they walk into a room.

5: how many blankets / pillows do they like to have on their bed?

dev is a weirdo. they love throw pillows and have a problem with impulse buying them. but he only has like two actual pillows for sleeping on. when it comes to blankets, he's never liked them. they keep a blanket on their bed to not seem like a psychopath, but he mainly just sleeps on top of it.

his fear of commitment has always been something that has been a massive blockade. it goes beyond even just romantic relationships, affecting their friendships and even familial relationships. it roots back to a childhood full of loneliness and inconsistency he has yet to fully unpack.

dev is a fucking netizen. he practically lives on instagram and twitter. they even have a secret twitter they use to lurk on the band's stan twitter. he might have a borderline unhealthy obsession with his socials, but unhealthy coping mechanisms are just the way he rolls.
