genkaku 🐦⬛
➽─────────────────────────────────────────❥
this sadistic fucker is from deadman wonderland & i'd pass him off as a lovable villain, let me tell u why:
💀 his entire character design is memorable, like, his concept as a "monk," with robes, beads, cherry red hair, a guitar as his weapon. c'mon what's not to love? the contradiction between a pure, savior role being pursued by someone as batshit crazy as him is lovely. i love it so much. you have punk rock mixed with holy saint and it's soo UNIQUE
💀 he's gay as fuck for Nagi and i will NOT be hearing otherwise. you're telling me instead of killing off someone who's leading uprising forces against you, you're gonna set him aside and try to convert him? gonna shoot him full of drugs and get him to join you? and you killed his wife? yeah-uh-huh, right. gay as fuck for Nagi
💀 his character is sort of complex. upon first impressions, he's aloof, unsympathetic, careless, impulsive and super duper uber violent, period. he gives off silly, interested in fun only vibes. but um, his fun is brutally killing everyone and laughing psychotically afterwards. that's just the surface of his character though because he's shown to actually give a fuck, or two fucks. this personality is a front for someone who's deeply traumatized & instead of facing his demons, he'd rather pretend like he's saving people from them through death
💀 as a child, he was very gentle, very soft, very full of heart, very nurturing. sort of lonely, kinda sad. but he remained empathetic until the cat, a sort of symbolic figure for say, his innocence, died. & with that he concluded that death is salvation. he's a really lonely person. killing is his release, as he believes he's releasing others from the torment of being alive. even in adulthood, no one really understands him or why he is the way he is. he doesn't get it neither. he looks at Nagi for relatability, seeing that he has the capability to be just as insane, but it's not enough. Nagi would've been a companion for him, not even just in a romantic sense but as someone who was a friend
💀he's a rape victim and. i feel like his existence as a male character who's experienced that is really important. this isn't taken lightly & the effects of it on his development into adulthood is apparent. like, he's traumatized as hell but refuses to admit it to anyone
💀 genkaku is just. a villain to love. he's evil in all the right ways and this chaoticness is so strong. but it's just a veil for someone who's been wronged by everyone in his life. it's such a feels bad
