Man though you know what makes me sorta sad is when nerdy, “quiet” kids latch on to me during camp and they just talk and talk and talk about a thing they’re into (Skyrim, Pokemon, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, dinosaurs, whatever). And I see the kids just light up when they say something and I can chime in with an ‘oh hey, are you talking about [x]? I love that thing! Tell me more about it.’

Like, their parents will warn me ‘so-and-so is pretty quiet and hard to engage’ but no, man, just listen, your kid is so smart and so into This Thing, they’ll engage like fuck and talk your damn ear off it you let them. Frame it in their damn terms. Or! Just! Listen to them about their Thing! And they will engage with the rest of the material! Because they know you care about them! Amazing!!!

Y’all know what I really like about The Dragon Prince?

If you said “everything,” you’re right, but listen.

I actually really like that they gave the characters NIPPLES.

I know it probably sounds funny but I’m serious! Look at Runaan! Look at my boy! Look at his NIPS.

This is a lot more than can be said of… certain other shows. 👀👀

Seriously, though, what is it? Nipples are a body part that literally everyone has; it’s like drawing a character without their last toes. Literally what is the deal with animators just erasing the nipples off of male characters? I specify male characters because we all know that female presenting nipples will get your blog deleted and tHE POLICE CALLED, SHIELD YOUR VULNERABLE CHILDREN’S EYES FROM THE SEDUCTIVE HORRORS OF TIDDY DEVILRY female breasts tend to be drawn and presented with more detail and purpose in the media while male characters are often seen shirtless with no sexual connotation whatsoever which is a whole other bag of fucketry that we won’t open right now.
