Happy day two of 31 days of the Arcana! The @thearcanagame people are pretty awesome not gonna lie.
This one was kinda fun but I was really tired when I wrote this so it might not be my best work but it is my first Nadia fanfic so I’m happy about that.
“And over there is the bakery.” I pointed towards the small pink bakery, the desserts in the window looking as fresh and mouth watering as ever.
“What a charming little bakery, we need to visit it sometime.” Nadia said beside me, our arms interlocked as we walk down the street.
It was one of Nadia’s much appreciated days off and she decided that she wanted a tour of Vesuvia, specifically all the places that I liked, in disguise.
“Oh, I remember this place,” Nadia’s free hand gently waved around at our surroundings, “Your shop is near here, is it not?”
I look around to see the she is right, “Yeah it is, do you wanna stop by?”
“Yes, I would like to see the place you live in.” I could see Nadia’s smile of excitement underneath her scarf.
“I’ll lead the way.” We walked down the street, my feet knowing exactly where to go.
Soon enough, we’re at my front door. I quickly undo the protection spells and walk inside.
I breath a sigh of relief once I walk inside, everything looks the same as it did when I left. Absolutely no brake ins.
“Make yourself at home.” I say looking at Nadia to see her looking around the store, staring I bit longer at the tarot reading table.
“You’re home is so cozy.” She says taking off her scarf, letting down her long hair.
“Thank you, it’s no palace but it’s home.” I say, standing a bit awkwardly in the middle of the room, “So do you want some tea?”
“Yes please.” She follows me up the stairs.
I quickly grab the necessary ingredients for making tea, which isn’t much.
I look back at Nadia to see her looking around the kitchen, not really knowing what to do.
“Do you wanna help me make tea?” I ask.
She looks up, “oh, um sure but I’ve never made tea.”
I stare back at her in a bit of shock, “Really? Well today we can do it together!”
Nadia is clearly taken a back by my words but then she smiles and nods, “That would be nice.”
She joins me in the kitchen, pulling up her sleeves ready to get stuff done.
“When Asra taught me how to make tea,” I start pouring water into a kettle, “He told me that it takes great patience to make good tea but I’m pretty sure he just got that from a fortune cookie.”
Nadia laughs, “When I was little,” I hand her the kettle so she can put it on the stove, “My baba told my sisters and I that tea was essential to relaxation.” She said that last part in a deep voice. “I still don’t know what he meant.”
I laugh with her, then I turn on the stove salamander. I set the kettle on the fire then jump up on the counter.
“Must have been fun to grow up with a bunch of sisters.” I said.
Nadia stands in front of me, “Not really, even with so many sisters I was still lonely.”
“Awe, how could that be? I bet you were so cute.” I hold both of Nadia’s manicured hands in mine.
“I really was,” she smiled, moving between my legs.
“But you are definitely cute now.” I smile as she kisses my cheek.
“To deny that are not cute as well would be unjust.” Her voice is soft as she moves her kisses down my jaw.
My breath hitches and I squeeze her hands as she blows warm air on my neck.
As soon as her lips touch my neck, a high pitch screech rang out. I look to see the kettle screaming at us that it’s done.
Nadia moves away from me as I pout but jump off the counter and follow her.
I grab two mugs and set them on the counter for Nadia to gently pour in the steaming hot water then I plop one tea bag into each of the cups.
“Ta-da!” I exclaim in excitement, “Two cups of tea, now we have to wait again for it to cool down.”
“I can think of a few things we can do while we wait.” Nadia pulls me towards the couch in the corner.
The tea got cold but it isn’t the tea that matters but the process of making it and the memories made on the way. Cold tea still sucks though.
