My first Gwenpool comic + My personal Gwenpool collection.
The story of how I first found Gwenpool is one I just LOOOOVE telling, I will keep telling that story to everyone I meet, I will tell it to my grandchildren, it'll flash before me when the day of my inevitable demise comes.
Basically, I was 12 years old with a brand new interest in Marvel after seeing Endgame (I hadn't been a fan of Marvel for a looong time) and then one day I was a the supermarket with my mama (i love you mama) and she decided to buy me this pack containing 4 random comic books. I forget what other 3 comics were included since I sold the rest, but this one was special to me because I noticed the writing was very good, the art style was pleasant and I enjoyed it very much.
It felt like a heroin high, that was how I became addicted to comic book collecting and reading. Half a year later, I buy another one of those and I get the 8th issue of Gwenpool, and I... didn't read it. But I still kept it. God, I'm so young that I can practically say that Gwenpool was my childhood. Insane.
I then realized that I was economically stable and purchased the Unbelievable Gwenpool TPB vol. 4 for a very very cheap price. And then I got some other issues because I liked the covers. It's funny because I also own every TPB on digital except for volume 4.
Comics are very inaccesible here in Mexico, let me tell you. Televisa is the only company to ever translate Gwenpool and even then they only did the first 20 issues and issue 0. And since they don't even print Marvel stuff anymore, they're pretty hard to find, but I get lucky sometimes. Apparently, even the English editions for the TPBs seem hard to find (Especially TPBs 3, 4 and 5) but I'll probably find a way eventually.
Issue 1 wasn't very hard to find. I had the money, and I just randomly found a listing here in big Mexico, and a couple days later, I got it in the mail. Yes, that's how online purchases work, you buy something and some time later, they ship it off and send it to you in the mail.
I look forward to completing my physical collection soon, as a way to say thank you to the comic that got me back into comics.
No, I do not own any Gwenpool merchandise, but I've seen some of the statues and they look pretty neat.
Hope you liked my ted talk, or should i say Ed talk (because my name is Eddie)
