Day two hundred and twenty four
K I know mermay was like last week but I had the passing idea for a SylviEclipse, thought about it for a moment I may as well share it
Our dear old friend Sylvester is the son of a fishmonger family off the coast of sweet Jazz city, Trying to get a good education so he could not spend all his time on a boat surrounded by dead fish and whatever dead fish smells like idk
Eclipse is a merman, Servant of darkness to Miss Void, a siren witch living at the bottom of the ocean who needs Eclipse to do her bidding in the ocean’s surface and on land due to how water pressure works
More specifically to destroy the “sea guardian, Guardian of the sea”, Aika.
She’s just a normal Mergirl who got roped into this whole “guarding the ocean against pollution or whatever” thing by this weird talking starfish (Hoshi) that’s REAL pissy about her not doing her job when she just wants to be left alone
Unfortunately one day she lost her star shard (which in this AU is a cool looking seashell) and turns out one of those tourist trap seashell stores that sell them for a arm and a leg found her shell shard and is trying to sell it for money
Land money she doesn’t have unfortunately
While trying to figure out how to get land money she meets Zira and that’s how the Yuri part happens or whatever
I’m more focused on the Yaoi
In the past few days/weeks, Eclipse has noticed a boat hanging on the surface near where he and Lady D meet
He originally planned to just sink it to make sure Lady Devoid doesn’t get hurt but upon closer inspection at how the crew effortlessly dispose of fish and ocean-like creatures in general
(And totally not one member of the crew in particular)
He feels as if he could recruit them instead to help destroy the Sea guardian
And of course the crew in specific is Sylvie and his fishing family
Imagine you’re Sylvie, reading a textbook on how to skin a salmon or psychology stuff or whatever, sitting on the poop deck on a nice comfy chair at midnight, with the moon’s light shining softly on the nearby water
You look out at the water and you see the outline of a PERSON staring at you even as you’re a couple hundred miles away from civilization
Its Mermaid Eclipse trying to get sylvie to help him destroy Aika using his fishing skills, Sylvie finding out mermaids and non-epithet magic exist, researching and Slowly falling in love with eclipse and also hiding the fact from his fish-mongering parents
Oh and also Rick shades is there because of course he is
